I bought two and ended up filling three huge Rubbermaid tubs when they were broken apart and dampened. You should not have a problem getting 2-2.5 feet out of a package.

We are using the coir for raising earthworms as bedding. The texture and water retention is great and the worms love it. Adding a bit of fresh manure and organic scraps to the mix. My worms are reproducing at an alarming rate.

Would this work as a bedding for red wigglers worms?

Personally I would not use coco coir for bedding. Shredded paper and paper egg cartons are better. Also verify you are feeding them properly. My worms live in my basement which is about 65F. Good luck.

The only salt content I can detect are the salts that are introduced by the addition of the salts contained within the city water that I've used to hydrat the material.

You could use it for worm bedding...I would chunk some off and mix with shredded newspaper. I mostly just use shredded paper for my worms...they aren’t very particular

Annoyed
The bricks were as I expected they would be. 100% what I expected. The packaging, however, leaves a bit to be desired. I knew it wouldn't come wrapped in plastic which is great! One of the reasons I bought it. I am, however, unimpressed (and so is the UPS driver) with the fact that they used one flimsy piece of tape to hold the bottom of the box shut.

Hard to use as mostly broken up coir and lot of dust which went everywhere. No longer recommend.

great stuff
We placed the block in about an inch of water in a wheelbarrow, Waited a day, and were able to break it down with our hands into this fine powder. The final result feels like a luxurious additive that will do great for our potting soil mixes

I bought 2 blocks and 1 of them were already used. Very disappointing. I feel like i got ripped off.

Not thrilled with the shipping. It should have been in plastic. The product is fantastic, though. It broke down quickly and beautifully once water was poured on it.

Did I actually get Vermont Organics coir? I don't know because it was an unwrapped block of mystery coir, packed with newspaper. It seems to be working well, but for twenty-five cents more you can get an 11lb block of Viagrow coir that comes with a package. My recommendation - spend that extra quarter!

I have no idea what kind of P I received because it was a loose block in a cardboard box. At least I could confirm it's 11lbs

I like the coir but it didn't come packaged so storing it, is a problem. I was very surprised to open the box and find raw coir blocks with no packaging. Not very professional, especially for Home Depot. Otherwise it breaks down fast when water is added.
