Product Details

The Viagrow 6 in. heavy duty wide lip mesh pot bucket lid is designed to fit on standard 3.5 Gal. and 5 Gal. buckets. The 6 in. net cup bucket lids are great for all hydroponic applications as the mesh pot creates ample aeration for root development. In addition, the black opaque plastic will keep light out thus preventing algae from growing in your growing chamber. For ideal results use VS50 or VS10 Viastone grow rocks as your media in hydroponic applications.

  • Mesh pot is 6 in. x 4.5 in. deep

        When getting this insert, I thought of several uses since it fits nicely over a 5 gallon bucket. I used it to sift cat litter and it works very well. I used it to hold a paint filter for straining paint. I used to hold a filter so I could strain used motor oil. I cleaned it and used to strain used fish cooking oil. It is easy to clean in the sink and holds up well to the weight.

        The insert is designed to be used in growing all hydroponic applications as the mesh pot creates ample aeration for root development. But I have another use for the insert. The insert fits well on a 5 gallon Home Depot plastic bucket ( the orange colored one) which makes a great mop bucket when mopping the floors. I use the lid insert to wring the mop dry. This is just another use for the lid insert. Works great for this purpose!

        The Viagrow 6 inch Mesh Pot Bucket Lid Insert (6-Pack) works well if you are developing your own hydroponic system, expanding your current system, or using as replacements. The mesh pot lids are lightweight, durable, and more than sturdy enough to support growing plants. They really are easy to work with. The lids snap tightly on the buckets, but not so tightly as to complicate rotation or removal. The smooth surfaces are easy to clean. I plan on developing a second system with my Viagrow 6 inch Mesh Pot Bucket Lid Insert (6-Pack) using either the 5 or 3.5 gallon buckets okay for hydroponic use with Viastone Grow Rock Medium and fittings all available at Home Depot. I really like these Viastone Mesh Pot Lids and am happy that these and so many fine hydroponic items are available at Home Depot.
