This trap isn't made to be exposed to rain and snow. I do use mine outside though in a protected area.

Multi Kill Electronic Mouse Trap is rated 2.4 out of 5 by 48.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from This Thing Works Great, If... We've had one of these in the house for about a month. It was nailing about 3 mice a week, but we were still in the midst of the worst infestation we've seen in 20 years. Not impressed much. Then we discovered the key to using this trap successfully. Find the food source for the mice. Remove it, clean the area, and place the trap there. The mice will return to their feeding spot and find the trap, containing your bait, the only food source. We switched to this method a few days ago and have gotten 12 mice in less than 3 days. As I am typing this, we got another. My bait is a half a peanut hot glued to the bait wall. No mouse has ever reached it...it is in pristine condition. I think the key here is that your bait needs to compete favorably with what else is around for them to eat. Until we removed it, the peanut in the trap was not competing favorably with a 40 lb bag of dog food. :) Conclusion...impressive engineering, well built, worth the investment.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from No trap mouse trap. I did not have any luck catching mice with the Victor Multi-Kill electronic mouse trap. After carefully following the instructions for preparing the trap, I placed it in a location where known to travel and feed. The mice that populated the target area were fairly large but not the size of rats. I baited the trap with quality peanut butter but the only thing I caught was one cockroach--still alive in the rodent receptacle. I tested the batteries in the trap and even intalled fresh, new batteries. I knew others had gotten good results using the electronic trap so I tried the trap in another location where smaller mice were being successfully captured in "live" traps. The mice seemed to sense the electricity present in the trap and simply avoided it. I think the electronic mouse trap is a great idea the the concept is sound. I intend to continue experimenting with the trap until I find a way to use it effectively. When I do, I'll report back. As things stand, I have a no trap mouse trap.

Making the mouse climb steps to get to the bait seems like a bad design and didn’t get any mice even though I baited it with the peanut butter. There are other Victor kill devices that seem to work better. The Victor Rat Zapper Ultra worked really well.

Have caught 3 mice so far. If they get in they won't get out! I am using it outside in an area protected from rain and snow. Did have a squirrel open the lid and eat the peanut butter one day though. Just used tape to keep the lid closed.

I’m not sure if they went in and the trap didn’t work or they never went inside and only ate what was on the steps. But I haven’t caught anything. The sticky trap has even caught one but not this expensive box.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from it's a little slow to work bought one several months ago and for the first two months I was trapping mice on the glue traps and none on this multi-kill unit so I thought there goes another $100. bucks down the drain until the mice discovered it and "bam" it started bagging them by three in one day, after that I stopped putting out the glue traps because it was catching even the large water bugs. I use the glue traps for all the other insects and such . highly recommend but you must be patient and move it around to different spots in the house till you find the sweet spot . mine is 8 -ft. left of the stove against the wall .
