Snakes were not affected by this product... I spread it...
Snakes were not affected by this product... I spread it as directed, it really smells horrible... my wife is deathly afraid of snakes... one day after I spread this garbage a lovely milk snake pops out from under a bush and my wife is screaming like in a horror movie... a day later I take a walk through the garden at lunch time an there's a 2 foot long garter laying on one of the pavers sunning himself... My garden shovel works better than this product... wish I could get my money back and submit the pics of the snakes I took with my iPhone

Snake-A-Way is not for the faint of heart. I live in a area of Florida which rattlesnakes as well as other venomous species are quite common. I thought that Snake-A-Way might be the answer.... After my husband and I read the directions and warnings on the packaging we decided that it was too toxic for use at our home. I have attached photos of the warnings and hazards of using this product. I personally feel the risk of using is too dangerous for humans and pets.

So I ordered the Victor Snake Away when I purchased a new house and observed some snake activity....
So I ordered the Victor Snake Away when I purchased a new house and observed some snake activity...figure the may help with keeping the slithering things to a minimum.
When the package arrived I was surprised to find a strong potent odor coming out of the box even though the packaging was still sealed.
In reading the directions I found one warning after another and potential environmental hazards.
The directions require a large swath of the granular be placed down to deter snakes from entering an area. Depending on the species of snake determines how wide you have to put the product out. The if it rains you need to reapply the granular to keep the treatment I place.
Have yet to see if the product works as the 4lb bag only went so far. The odor is the detergent. It's strong enough to keep me away from the area as it is not pleasant.

It’s the time off the year where does unpleasant creatures try to visit your home, we live in Texas and in our back yard is a bayou and all we can do to keep our pets and our selfs safe from snakes is to use this VICTOR SNAKE-A-WAY 4 LBS. SNAKE REPELLENT GRANULES, we have to use at least 2 -3 times a month because of the rains, it does wash away the granules , is not safe for your pets , always use gloves and a mask the smell is pretty strong , very important to read the instructions first

I have been using this product for at least 8 years with success. Copperheads are a frequent problem here (SC) and occasionally a Carolina Pygmy Rattlesnake, right up to my foundation. I have woods on three sides and a creek in back. I sprinkle the granules about 6 - 12 inches wide around my foundation, beginning as spring warms, every 2 - 3 months depending on rainfall, until cold weather stabilizes. They are still very much in the yard, but have not seen ANY near the house. It is impractical to treat my entire property, so I settle for keeping them away from my house.

Right when I opened the box, the smell of mothballs greeted me. Whatever is the active ingredient, is very strong smelling.
Since I have a dog that only foes in my backyard, I decided to put this on the side of my fence my dog can not get to. Its also the opposite side from where Ive seen smaller snakes before.
It does say on the label to use only before you see snakes. So far, I have not seen any since putting the granules down.

I got this because of the area I live in is like a Forrest. So I researched and found VICTOR SNAKE-A-WAY 4 LBS. SNAKE REPELLENT!!! It’s registered by the epa, which means it has no adverse effects when used correctly. It’s well packaged with clear directions for how it should be used and the bag is resealable so you can reseal it tight if you have granules left over. Snakes both venomous and non venomous are sensitive to smells (Jacobson’s organ) the snakes don’t like the smell they will Slither away to get away from the smell. After hard rains refresh around your areas and don’t leave gaps. All this information is right there on the bag. Please read before using. I’d refer VICTOR SNAKE-A-WAY 4 LBS. SNAKE REPELLENT to everyone.

Holy cow does this product stink! When UPS dropped it off, I had to ask "who died"? Not sure how effective this product was as I have no ‘control’ comparison. After using it, we did still see several brown snakes around. We have had trouble in the past regarding baby birds (we have several blue birds nesting in our area) with brown snakes that show up when the hatchings are very vocal for food, only to find snakes crawl up the posts and eat the hatchings. Will report back if it works!
