Ground and house under second story deck stays wet for days after rain. Will these stones help absorb water?

Rocks don’t absorb water but they will disperse it. If you can Lay the stones in a manner to divert the water or lay the stones thick enough to cover the normal gathering of the water, the stones will help. All the stones do is displace they water.

Can this be usued for under an outdoor wood firplace

Sure can. It is clean gravel, easy to work with. Just make sure it is the color you desire; it will never lighten up, and over time will get a little darker with exposure to the elements (dirt).

can this stone be used for a small dry well drainage project?

This stone is quarter size limestone. It works great for just about anything you would need rock on stones for.

How heavy are the bags

Asked by Cbe April 22, 2020

50 lbs. That’s the gross weight of the bag. The net weight of the stones once dry I cannot say for sure as I have never purchased them and received a dry bag. They have always come “freshly washed” or something. I wouldn’t be comfortable saying why I think they wash them first except of course for the fact that doing so would add to the total gross weight of each fifty pound bag. In all fairness, I have never literally weighed one of the bags on a scale myself. Bottom line each bag is approximately 50 U.S. Standard weight, in pounds.

Lay down the special black screen underlayment first. This will help keep the weeds from growing through.

These are like Magic Color Changing Rocks. I ordered it online for store pickup, and was surprised that the bag was filled with red rocks. I thought they grabbed the wrong bag. However the UPC matches and the person there told me it is supposedly grey when dry. That turned out to be true, but it's a very dramatic color change from wet to dry. Check out the picture, that's all the same rocks, with a portion wet. The bags are also seal so they retain moisture assumingly because they are washed then bagged. Not really sure how anyone who's in store is supposed to know it's grey since they are all wet and I couldn't really find any clear place on the bag that marks it as grey or shows a picture. I didn't really like it as a decorative stone, but lucky I didn't buy enough to cover the area I needed. So I bought more bags of a marble chip rock that doesn't magically change color when wet and threw it over it. As such, it's very cheap, very small, and changes color.

COLOR WASHES OFF WITH RAIN
I purchased 30 bags of this within 2 weeks the color began to wash off and now i have mixed colored rocks i can understand all -purpose but don't list this as decorative stone and state that it does not discolor when in fact it does i purchased them for the gray color. very disappointed please see photos for proof this is only a handful there is a lot more. Wish i could get my money back!

Perfect pea gravel patio
The color was consistent throughout the bags. The have a light gray look. They are not too small or big. I walk across them in boots and shoes and they stay in my perimeter very well. I had an area that had too much rock close to the edge so i move them to.the middle and have no issues keeping them iut of the grass. I used a 1.5 inch no dig boarder. I wanted 1 inch of cover and i don't have too much of an issue seeing the liner.

Product held moisture in the bags, so when it was laid out, was a darker color. After about 24 hrs of drying, it lightened in color and looked great.

Color changes when washed.
These are exactly what they say they are, but be careful of the color. It's more of a mixed batch than one color. Looks brown in the bag but dirt washed off.

I had a big time drainage problem in my back yard. We had a new retaining wall installed this year & I was seeing tremendous amounts of water cascading over it. My big concern was erosion of the footing. So I dug a trench, lined it with Vigoro 4 ft. x 100 ft. Matrix Grid Landscape Fabric, installed a 4 inch perforated black pipe & filled the trench with 82 bags (4100 pounds) of this gravel. I hope to divert any water coming off the hill in the back of our property to the existing drainage system in front of the wall.

I used this for a drainage under horse matts. The area was in a run for my ducks. It was very less expensive than other options and worked wonderfully. The mats drain and turn dry much more quickly than before.
