Q:Has anyone been able to attach a baffle or something underneath it to prevent bird feed from getting on the deck? We had an opossum underneath ours last night. We?ve never had them come up on the deck. It was eating the spilled bird feed.

A: I attach this to my deck rail so that the feeder hangs the other way so any food falls to the ground and not the deck.

A: I've not done that. However, it's sounds like a great idea. They're certainly sturdy enough. You will probably need something to secure the light strand or handle to prevent it from slipping off of the hook though if your lanterns aren't very heavy. My plant baskets are too heavy to get rocked over the hook. Try mini zipties from the dollar store perhaps? Good luck. I'm sure it will be beautiful.

A: That should work. I used it to hang a bug light. I did however, use a black twisty to secure light on windy days. You could also use a zip tie.

A: I haven't done this but use mine to hold a glass hummingbird feeder works perfect for that. So you would have no problem hanging solar lights from them.
