Perfectly line your landscape and garden beds with the Vigoro premium composite edging. This edging flattens quicker than the average garden edging which makes it easier to install and create your own design. The exclusive green-line depth indicator shows how deeply it should be set into the ground for maximum stability. A pointed edge makes installation simple and the flexible material will remain straight or conform to curves. This edging creates a barrier that helps keep mulch and other landscape materials intact, while giving you flexibility to be creative with your design.

Five metal stakes included

Q:Can this material be poked with holes? I?m trying to find the best way to block the large space under my patio banister so things stop falling off. I thought this might be good if I poke holes and attach cable ties to the bottom of the bannister.

Good, sturdy quality that can be used instead of metal edging. It is stiff enough to replace more expensive metal edging. Don't listen to others who say it is waving, etc. It is easy to adjust and make nice and straight.

On west side of yard, product warps
Per reviews, I left edging out all day in Georgia sun for pliability. I cut a “V” 4-5” deep, installed border, and packed dirt on both sides. I think it stops zoysia from getting into grass, but I can’t get the product to stay straight! On the east side of our yard, there is no warping. I assume this is due to the heat on the west side. Any suggestions on something I can add to it so it will stay straight! Thank you! My yard is beautiful, but this warped edge makes it look unsightly.

can't get this edging to go straight
illustrations make it look like you can make a straight edge, however, this edging bends and wobbles, and there are too few stakes for the length of the edging.

My family feels that this edging is the most aesthetic (overall) synthetic-composite edging on the market - at this price; steel is very expensive (and will stain concrete) - otherwise, I would say steel looks the best (and can be re-painted); using steel edging against stone or concrete, in the long-run, will lead to rust-stained masonry or stone - no thank you!
I don't know how long this material will last - but at this price-per-foot, and with this color (black or brown) - this material is very aesthetic for a composite material; it is a matte-finish; there is no "tube" up at the top-most portion of it (which is common with another brand); it goes in very easily; it has a pointed if just tapered-end; and it has a blunt end; blunt-end goes up!
We installed ours backwards (outside facing in) because there is a green line painted on the outside top-most (near the blunt-edge) edge; I prefer not to see that green-line (paint) and I wanted our edging to sit a little taller (to manage some water flow that hits against this garden off the concrete);
This edging is living up to my expectations thus far. It is handsome in black. Durable and thick;
Installation Tip: Unroll it and then roll it up tight backwards in order to relieve the self-curling, and this will flatten it out nicely - and then this edging will work well in your hands. This really works. It will not retain the tight curl that it ships in and is quite malleable after you reverse-curl tightly.
PROs: this material is rigid, thick, and sturdy - approximately 10mm thick up at the top-most thick blunt-edge of it.
CONs: I might prefer the green stripe to not be there; but you might be glad to have it so that you can install it at a uniform depth into the soil; if you do not like it, simply reverse it, and the green-stripe will face the other way (presumably against a garden area with mulch or stone or towards the turf if you prefer that - it can go either way.
Optional: To bend it sharply I heated it gently with a propane torch and put a nice stay-put sharp-bend (90 degrees or tighter) into it and conform it to your garden or sidewalk. This is not a requirement, but I did it to get full control of the material.
Optional: To put two butt-ends together, in my opinion: clamp or hold the two over-lapped ends together snugly, index-drill two holes, and install two cost-effective aluminum rivets into it - it will come out just beautiful! The rivet is optional by-the-way, just my own special touch - you do not need to do that, as this material will stay put on its own.

For a homeowner it would be simple to use. It is very lightweight and flexible. However, it is thin and not the strongest stuff I have ever used. I would give it 5 stars, if it was just 3/16ths thicker. I still do recommend this product for homeowners, commercially in my landscaping business not a chance.
