Vigoro Organic Garden Paper is a chemical free, biodegradable garden paper that allows the user to go Green while controlling weeds. This product helps retain moisture in the soil allowing the plants more time to absorb water. The size is 3 ft. x 4 ft. precut sheet making it a great fit for the raised garden beds and other single season gardens. At the end of the season just mix the paper into the soil and let the mulching process begin for your next season.

I purchased 4 packages of this paper to use when making my raised beds on a poor soil area in my yard. This was last year. It has worked great. No slugs. I would definitely recommend it. I have since learned about cardboard and have used that to make new garden areas. This has also worked great. No slugs. The trick with cardboard is to wet down the cardboard, then put soil on top. When laying down cardboard overlap it so there are not spaces of soil to allow weeds to grow. Slugs are attracted to my hostas, but not paper. For slugs I take my eggshells, smash to finely crush, then put them around plants. Slugs will not move over eggshells.
There is only one sheet are in a package.
You can use this anytime during the season. Since it is biodegradeable I have used it for lasagna gardening enhancing weedless gardening.
You can use this whenever you are creating a raised bed.
Yes that’s the best time. It’s great when starting your container garden.
You just put it on the ground before you add the soil. It's very easy to do.
Hi Marshal, Thanks for visiting our site! Apply this paper to a freshly tilled and smoothed flower or vegetable bed onto the soil surface. Arrange the paper to remain flat with overlapping edges to completely cover the soil surface. This will prevent light from reaching weed seeds in the soil so that they cannot germinate. Water and air will be able to penetrate to support the plants that you wish to plant there. Cut an 'X' into the paper and peel back the paper to add a plant. If plants are already present, arrange the paper up to the stalk of the plants and cover as much of the soil between the plants as possible. Landscape fabric staples can be used to stabilize the paper. After the growing season has passed, till the paper into the soil where it will become compost, improving the soil for next season. Thank you for asking, -Travis
I purchased specifically to use to build my raised bed. I laid the paper down first, then built the raised bed on it. I then added the soil to the bed. I bordered the outside of the bed with hemlock mulch. It has been down now for 3-4 months. My bed is doing great with tomatoes and beans. I have had maybe 6 or 8 small weeds come up through the outside mulch, but they are very easy to pull.
