You may have issues with the cement from sidewalk and placing the edging close enough to it at the level you want. It can be a bit brittle to work with also.

From the pictures and descriptions I see of "Emerald Edge" I would say it probably is the same but I can't verify the compatibility of the interlock. Maybe you could take one of your existing pieces to your local Home Depot and try to connect it to the Vigoro.

Horrible product!
Please stay away! Horrible product! Waste of time and energy! Extremely hard to install, I’m not sure about no dig!

Returning the pieces back to the store.
I’ve used these edgers over the years and thought they were great. Heavy duty and could drive them into the ground with a 5 lb mall. These newer model pieces look the same but are so wimpy a hit anywhere with a rubber mallet breaks chunks off and I could snap them into pieces just bending them. Could not get them to snap together either. Had to cut tabs off to do so as force needed to push together actually broke the ends. Useless except for when you can push dirt or rocks up against to hold them. Forget trying to hammer into the ground

The edging was was bought hoping it would full fill my purpose...at first a little skeptical but I like the outcome. It was easy to shape it as I went around my Hosta beds with rocks and the edge of the grass where I had put tiny pea gravel down. I did not want people to trip over edging from the grass to the stones and I wanted the stones not to go in the bed. I am very pleased with the outcome.

no digging?
Im not sure about the no digging part. I tried to hammer these down with a rubber hammer and broke one. I had to dig down to get them in. They look great. I would recommend snapping the full length of your run first and then out them in the ground. Its hard to put them together one at a time if they are in the ground. Also wish they had a way to snap together corner pieces.

Breaks so easy.
This was a complete waist of money. Breaks just attaching the ends. 50% of what I purchased had to go to the trash because once broken they won’t stay together and you can see the breaks from the top. So horrible. Don’t Buy this product.

It defines the bed nicely. What's in the bed stays in and what shouldn't be in the bed stays out. No more mulch running out into the yard and so much easier to keep neat. It's simple to use and effective. We used an edger in rocky areas, but it can just pound in if it's just dirt. We had some last year and extended it this year.

Breaks easily, difficult to install
After doing my research to find no dig edging that looked simple to install, I went out and purchased this. I watched the video of the older gentleman installing it by himself with ease. When I tried to snap the first to pieces together, the tab broke off. I decided no biggie and was able to connect the other 2 pieces to for a circle for around the tree. It automatically forms itself into a square due to the easy bend corner feature which is the best feature of the product for those that need to bend a nice sharp neat corner. So I partially inserted the edging into the ground by hand to form a nice circle. I must let you know that I live in Michigan and we have had ALOT of rain over the last couple weeks and the ground is saturated. I grabbed my rubber mallet and a block of wood to protect the edging even more so while pounding it into the ground. This is where it all went downhill. First off you need to have a second person to help hold the other sections of the edging in place and even with that, you get one section started in, move the next and it either pops out the section you just were working on or the sections start to come apart from each other. To make things even worse, the sections cracked and broke once they were inserted only half way. It should not be that difficult to install and it should not be breaking. I returned the pieces that I did not try to install with no issues to the store. There are still the 4 pieces I tried to install that are partially in the ground around my tree that will be going to the curb for recycling soon. I definitely do not recommend the product due to the difficultly of the installation as well as the lack of durability, not to mention the video is misleading.

Junk!
Every single one of the 6 pieces I bought broke while trying to put together. Not to mention that they broke again while trying to push into the ground. No stone or root and ground was soft. Just a real bad product
