Product Overview

The Vigoro 4 ft. x 50 ft. Matrix Grid Landscape Fabric is perfect for all your landscape, hardscape, garden, planting, live goods, pathway and soil erosion projects. The durable patented 3-layer technology utilizing a unique combination of a non-woven top layer, a matrix grid core center and a non-woven bottom layer delivers a landscape fabric that is at least 2 times stronger than most fabrics. This unique technology allows for superior weed blocking along with air and water permeability that allows air and water to pass through the fabric to help maintain optimal soil conditions. The structural matrix grid core center design helps make measuring, cutting and fabric fastening into the soil easy and keeps the fabric in place and secure for any project. Whether youre a PRO or a DIY enthusiast, the Vigoro 4 ft. x 50 ft. Matrix Grid Landscape Fabric is excellent for any large or small project to help save you time and money.

It has never been tested with clay sub-surfaces but I can't see any reason why it wouldn't work well with a 3 layer composition.

With this 3 layer composition, I believe either sized stone will work since the thickness should help with the mullen bursting strength.

Yes Polypropylene (PP) is used to make face mask. PP is a raw material that comes from petrochemical companies such as Exxon Mobile. PP can be used for Face Masks, home and garden, construction fabrics, etc. However, each use has different specifications so it is not recommended to use fabric for Home and Garden for Face masks.

Didn't Block Anything
we bought this in late 2020 with the idea that we could prevent weed growth over the winter and early spring in part of our garden. We laid this out and made sure that it stayed on during the winter. with the recent warm-up we went outside to check and were dismayed to see the entire underside covered in healthy green weeds. This did nothing to stop weeds but more active like a greenhouse for them to grow healthy.

For large area projects, this 6 foot wide roll is perfect for the job. Seems tough enough when cutting that it should last well. The instructions say to put "shiney side down" which isn't apparent which side is more shiney, but assumed it is to be rolled out as manufactured.

Weeds grew right thru it like it wasn't even there. Even with it covered with 3" of Real Hemlock Mulch. Very disappointed with this application. Used the gray fabric before and it did much better. Save your money don't use any fabric.

Denver home projects (we are dry or it rains a frog strangler here). Material is a 3 layer fabric - very strong. specs state the fabric is "0.5mm" which is about 19mils (average trash bag is .9 to 3ml thick). Used it for weed barrier under heavy rock bed that allows roof downspouts to drain to street, garden path with breeze (decomposed granite), and for raised bed french drain wrap to protect drain and rock sieve from soil infiltration. I have used this product in the past; this barrier holds up well over years, allows drainage/moisture flow but block weeds from below. Use lots of U shaped fabric pins to hold in place (edges and middle of cloth) and over lap fabric rows by 6-12 inches (depending on slope or flat). Advice: Never, never use landscape cloth under mulch/bark bedding (mulch breaks down into soil; mulch should be 3-4" deep which will deter weeds while holding soil moisture/nutrients). Also, avoid cheaper thin fabric that tears easily and does not stop weed penetration. I recommend this product for any landscape project.

Product is fine, but dimensions not as advertised. These rolls are not 100 feet long. They are approximately 95 feet long. My yard is 49 feet so one roll should cover two passes and have 2 feet left over. They were about 3 feet short of doing that.
