A small price for a High price looking lawn
Living in North Eastern Florida the Vigorot I chose is an “all purpose” fertilizer. I have different grasses in my yard this Vigoro is the right choice for me. I applied it per package instruction 2.8 lbs. per 1000ft. How I understand the 29-0-4, means 29% nitrogen 0% phosphorus and 4% potassium. With the nitrogen in a time release form this means my grass will stay greener longer. It can be used year around on new or established yards. I applied 1 week ago, my yard is already looking greener, this isn’t a weed and feed, so I’m still pulling by hand at this time. But, with a healthier grass I’ll have less weeds to pull! The package reads it will help strengthen lawn against heat & drought which is another reason I need this type of fertilizer.

Just OK
I dropped this fertilizer about 2 weeks ago, I followed the manufacturers instructions and wet down the lawn really well prior to applying it so that the weed killing component would stick to the weeds. About a day after the application we got a few pretty good rain storms so that should've allowed the fertilizer to get into the soil. Well, like I said, it's been 2 weeks and I still have a lot of weeds on my lawn, and the grass still hasn't really greened up like it does when I use just fertilizer without the weed control. In fact, there are a few spots that have actually gotten browner. This is the time of year in the Northeast where unwatered grass will start to go dormant due to the heat so I'm not sure if the additional brown spots are caused by that or the fertilizer.

Good Performance
I applied this fertilizer in mid summer because my lawn was not as green as it was six weeks ago. I applied the fertilizer with a rotary spreader just before a rain fall to help in getting the fertilizer to the roots. I was surprised that in three days after the rain fall I had a green lawn ready for mowing. I think that this product is as good as any product out there and given its lower price, its a bargain.

Have no idea what others are talking about
I've used this product for the last 5 years and every year my grass is greener and looks healthier than my neighbors who use a company that comes and sprays 2 times a week. I also found that I've never burned my grass like other products do.This is by far the best stuff I've ever used.

Good but not the best!
Have used this fertilizer many times. Not the best since the price has increased and formula has changed. I would rate it average at best.

Not the bargain it use to be!!!!
Does not do the job like it use to in years past.....plus it costs almost twice as much as it did five years ago. Need to look for something else.

Impressed
Put this on my new lawn and it turned a deep green and the grass got noticeably thicker. I'm gonna try the weed n feed version next round with hopefully good results.

vigoro 72 hr. fertlizer is not the same chemicals that was yrs ago
I used vigoro 72 hrs green 4 yrs ago for the first time. It was great.turned my lawn green so much that my son spread it on his lawn and then it woerked so good that he was mowing every 3 or 4 days . 2 years in a row. Now you have changed the composition .I spread it on my lawn and have been watering for 2 weekd ,not the same. I sent the labels proof of purchase and have not recieved my refund,
I purchaced 2 more bags ,because I have over an acre and did the rest of my lawn, same thing very little green. I know they changed the composition ,Now it no good, No more recommendation ,It worthless now.
