Vigoro 8 in. Spiral Anchoring Spikes are made of heavy duty composite nylon plastic for use in landscape or paver edging installations, and other around the house applications. The professional grade spikes are durable enough for a variety of residential and commercial anchoring tasks. Primarily designed for use with landscape edging and paver restraint products, Vigoro anchoring spikes are suitable for use in any soil type. Additionally, use these spiral spikes to anchor tree ties, lawn ornaments, inflatables, tarps or tents. The unique spiral design reduces ground heave, allowing the spike to embed itself into the soil, to secure any item. (8) 8 in. spiral nylon spikes are included in each package.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A necessary addition to the edgiing kit This is necessary to install the edging kit without major issues. The edging kit comes with just a few spikes, if you need more curves or sturdier installation, buy a few of these.

I tried alternative options (pegs, metal and plastic spikes), but discarded them and purchased the Vigoro anchors. Made the job easier and faster . . . and appearance more professional!

(Holding in some black edging). I am keeping them so that if I need to spike something else down, like a shade tent or landscape fabric, I may be able to use it for that (and because the package is already open), but overall, I would not buy these again and I think the price is far outside of normal.

There weren't enough spikes in the kit for my project so luckily these were sold separately. The picture shows 8 spikes/package so I bought 2. However, when they arrived, there were 16 spikes in each package! That's ok,- the more the better. Great product. It gave my landscaping project a more professional finish.

Eight inch length is right sized for holding down the No-Dig edging. Made of durable material that doesn't break with hammer blows and, of course, won't rust. I took off one star because it is pricey at $0.87 per spike. It comes in larger quantities which would bring the cost but Home Depot doesn't carry it in those larger quantity packs.

Easy to install, easy to get a straight line with the landscaping strip. I bought the Vigoro landscaping strip and it came with 8 stakes. I bought 16 more stakes for about a 20" strip rather than just 8. I rate both as very good!

If you buy the 20' length of said edging I would recommend purchasing this package of additional spikes, especially if you are making curves in the edging material as only 6 spikes come with the 20' roll. This package gives you 8 additional spikes.

Prior spikes were so flimsy, useless in hard-pack dirt, much less in rocky soil; older models simply bent or broke at slightest hammering. THIS batch of spikes exceeded expectations, fairly easily tolerating some tough hammering through our river-rocky ground.
