This planter does have feet with a drainage channel. Tray not needed but optional of course.
Detach the inner disk, as that should be zip tied, then flip it and place your soil as you normally would. The self-watering system works as soon as you fill the planter with the appropriate amount of water depending on what you plant.
Drill in extra holes—always! Planters w built-in saucers or "self-watering" setups are a one way ticket to root rot in most cases, and in my experience. :-) happy planting!
There is a well in the bottom of the container that collects water and holds it instead of the water running out.
Same as the height.
Absolutely is!
Only if the planter lacks proper drainage — but this one can be drilled for extra drainage if needed.
This depends on if you put drainage holes and proper soil in or not. You need to drill drainage holes (i put a lot of holes on the bottom and sides) and you need potting soil (not garden soil) which will have additives like perlite or coconut coir.
The idea is for the roots to travel down to the water reservoir, no wick needed.
