Starter Broke on Second Try
The electric start worked 1 time and then stopped working. Visions sent me a replacement starter which i had to replace myself.

The setup is very easy and the LP tank trolly...
The setup is very easy and the LP tank trolly is very simple to assemble. The LP tank fits under the grill cover like the grill cover was made for it and I have a 7 year old grill.
The insert slides in and be quickly attached to the gas line. The fire starts like a Coleman stove where it regulates itself once it is hot. With the lava stone between the flame and the meat, there is no flame ups. Also the stone helps prevent hot and cold spots on the grill.
This makes my grill more versatile for quick weeknight cooking.

My gas insert did not fit my Vision S
I bought my Vision S from HD. It has been tough to regulate the temp with charcoal. I bought the gas insert that was was suggested to me on a Vision Email, on sale at HD. Got it unpacked, installed the propane tank brackets, and went to slide in the gas insert. I hit the top of the heavy ceramic liner. NO FIT. I tried to call customer service at Vision and of course no one answers. I sent an E mail and who knows. So uninstall the brackets, pack it up and haul it back for return 90 miles trip. One would think there would be some sort of disclaimer about the fact that it might not fit on all S Vision. JOKE and a waste of my time. Back to our reliable Weber !

DO NOT BUY!!
Igniter will stop working after only a few uses. We purchased this grill in 2020 and have had to replace the lead 3 times already, including being sent a whole new insert. It only lasts a couple of times, and then the igniter will stop working. It's a piece of junk, don't waste your money on this grill at all!

Be careful of the year of mfg on the Pro...
Be careful of the year of mfg on the Pro S,,,,ours was 2015 (bought from HD in 2017)...insert did not fit...had to grind off part of the opening...ceramic is tough stuff...fortunately my son is "handy"

insert
The insert stopped working (igniting) the wire is arcing underneath ignitor so i have to manually light it. It gets to be a pain in the butt cause it all has to be taken apart

Everyone with a Visions grill should get this gas insert. It is very easy to install. Switching between charcoal and propane takes less than 5 minutes. Grill heats up fast and can get as hot as you need. Simple to set and keep temperature.

Brilliant concept, but ultimately not that useful
These are why I bought the vision grill to begin with. I have the propane and natural gas versions (they are identical, except the piping!). BTU thresholds of both limit use -- too hot for smoking, and too cool for searing. 450/500 on max, 300 on low.
