    A:  Fan is not very quiet, even on low speed, but works very well.

      A:  It is a multi speed fan, on low I would say it is quieter than average. On medium and high I would say it is louder than most. We rarely turn it up that high. really like the lights and digital display.

        A:  I would say the Vissani vent is pretty loud, but it is also very effective. I measured the decibel level at each setting using a phone app, and found as follows: Setting 1) 71 decibels; Setting 2) 75 decibels; Setting 3) 80 decibels The latter number has an equivalent to a busy road with heavy car traffic or a window air conditioner, according to the Decibel Pro website. Since the vent is very effective, we only need to use it for a short duration, meaning the noise is over soon. I personally like the vent.

          A:  I usually use it on high. High is not quite. Low and medium is ok. However, my concern is removing fumes and moisture. So I really don't care how loud it is. High is ok for a short time though.

            A:  It CAN be ductless using the filter system. Just read the specs: "This unit includes a carbon/charcoal filter kit (2-piece, part # RHCF668I) for ductless recirculating installations or to help reduce odors." "Convertible range hood can be installed as ducted/vented or non-ducted/recirculating to fit a variety of installation needs." It says it right in the product description.

              A:  It can be mounted either with or without a duct. Your choice. All parts are included. I put a duct on mine. If you don't use a duct, all the smoke/vapor runs through a filter and goes back into your kitchen. Not the best way to vent.
