The VH2 Heater has a thermostat with 40°F as the low setting and 85°F as the high setting.
On high, the heater will use 12.5 amps. Most home circuits are 15 amps. It would be best if the heater was the only thing on the circuit.
No, none of our heaters should be used with an extension cord of any type.
The VH2 Heater does have a "fan only" mode that will circulate air without heating but it is a slower circulation than if you were using a regular fan or circulator. The volume of air will be less.
Our heaters are designed for indoor residential use only. It is not recommend to use outdoors or in use unattended. All of our whole room heaters will heat a space of 16x16 with 8 foot ceiling. Please call our 800-234-0604 consumer line if we can assist you further.
It is difficult to provide estimate cost of using our whole room heaters, the cost per KWH from your electrical company would need to be applied. Our whole room heaters are designed to meet the set temperature selected on the heater, once the set temperature is reached, the heating element and fan will shut off depending on the model of heater. On certain models, the fan will slow down and continue to run for climate control when the heating element shuts off. Vornado's whole room heaters are designed to heat the whole room using air circulation throughout the space.
Ours sits directly on the carpet. I have felt around the bottom, and have not felt anything warm!
