Q:Can this be used with the Suntouch Warmwire? or is it only compatible with its corresponding DCM heating wire? Thanks!

Answer This Question

A:  Our membrane has been made to fit with our cable and has not been tested with competitor products. You will want to check with Suntouch to see if their cable will fit and is compatible with our membrane.

    Well Designed Product
A heated floor was part of a master bathroom remodel. I used this product to cover about 110 square feet of floor while only 50 square feet are heated. The other area is under vanities, in a water closet and in a linen closet. My tile contractor, with 30 years experience, was impressed with how the product lays flat and he also the price was less than he expected as well. He has installed about 40 heated floors. We also installed two sensors as recommended so that we have a backup. At less than $20 it is cheap insurance. We did not use the additional backerboards as a bottom insulator since we did not want a lip going into the bedroom. This master bathroom is in my mother-in-law's house and we didn't want a tripping hazard at the junction of carpet and tile.

Really nice thick decoupling membrane. The fleeced back feels sturdy and should help adhesion to the mortar bed. The pattern and embossing is thick and is easy to route the wire through. Easily laid underneath our 6x36” porcelain tile. I did lay down cement backer board first, but that probably wasn’t necessary for a good installation, it just made me feel better about it.

I requested this electric heated floor membrane roll since we are currently in the middle of remodeling our 2nd floor bathroom to have a washer and dryer and so I figured a heated floor would be a nice addition as well as long as I'm removing a chimney from the floor. This heated floor underlayment has some nice features like the ability to adapt to small changes in floor from expansion and contraction.

Necessary product for the installation of the Warmup floor system for heating. These go down along with other layers to create the stable flooring base necessary to install heating cable systems. Review this companies website for in depth information regarding install specifics. They provide a deep dive of info for the first time floor installer which makes install easier.

We are looking forward to installing this in a new home we are building. Footings go in next week but I could not wait to post this pre-review. Tile floors feel nice on the feet in the summer but in the winter they are not that comfortable. With this UL listed system we will be able to step onto a warm, comfortable floor. Ease of installation of this system as well as its well thought out, quality construction gives me confidence that it will function as advertised for years to come.

Easy to install and great follow along online videos on start to finish installation. Company appears to have a solid customer service support system also. This DCM-PRO Uncoupling System for electric underfloor membrane works with the DCM-Pro system of products and you easily insert the heating cable to your desired area to heat, then apply thin set and your flooring. I like that this works with almost any solid surface flooring where other in floor heating products don't work with some solid surface flooring types. This box of 10 sheets will cover approximately 81 square feet. It is fleeced back, which I cannot find what the advantage or disadvantage of fleeced back versus the peel and stick back option is. It would be good to know if one is better under certain circumstances. Each sheet measures 3 ft. 3 in. x 2 ft. 7 in. and can be easily cut to fit around areas such as a toilet, counter, etc. We need to tear out of the old flooring which is the original linoleum from the 60's! No telling what is in it so we don't want to put a heat element on top of it. The thermostat and heat cables are separate purchases. Once installed this will make my feet very happy in the winter to be on a toasty warm floor!

This is a preliminary review and will be updated once my tile contractor is able to schedule my project (about mid-June). I am actually reviewing the 47-foot roll of this material with the fleece backing. This requires applying thinset to whatever surface is under it. Most tile, along with thinset and this backing will put the finished floor close to the height of ¾ inch hardwood or a tad higher. The time consumed to lay out the mat heater wire is more than made up by the ability to cut the material with scissors or a box knife. This is much easier than working with various concrete backer board products and safer—no silica dust. The lighter weight and fewer seams are other advantages over concrete backer board. Having a clean surface below this material is critical since there will not be any fasteners used to anchor it. But the substrate should be just as clean when using traditional backer board so this is actually an advantage. It is not that this product would be a difficult DIY project. In my case, these old knees would complain too loudly. My contractor has used similar products and speaks highly of it so this will be an interesting comparison. Check back for an update and new pictures and watch for my review of the Warmup Thermostat and heating cable.

After lots of researching we settled on using the DCM-PRO Uncoupling System for electric underfloor heating with the heating cables (sold separately) We are using the fleece-backed although it also comes in peel-and-stick option that costs a little more. Once it is down and set it isn't moving so we chose to save a few bucks. Comes with 10 sheets that measure 3 ft. 3 in. x 2 ft. 7 in. and covers 81.6 sq. ft. This will be installed in a 5th wheel that we keep on property and use as a guest house for family and friends. The heated flooring will create radiant heat all winter for a fraction of the cost. This DCM-PRO product is the only UL approved membrane system in North America, which is pretty darn impressive. Can be used with all flooring types and thin set, which is a plus. Easy to install by just running the heat cables through the grooves on the mat, allows you to eliminate heating under areas that don't need it. You will need to purchase the heat cables and thermostat separately. This is an impressive and fully comprehensive system they have designed.

The area where I had it installed had a cold floor and the cold would penetrate trough your socks which meant that you had to whae shoes or slippers whenever on the floor, Now your feet will be warm in winter,
