There are no chemicals within our systems. The Prop 65 disclosure is there to be a blanket disclosure as the penalties are exorbitant if it is not posted on manufactured products and the state of California ever deems it should have been. Companies are starting to take the approach that it is better to have it posted and not need it, that to not post it at all. There have been water treatment companies out there using imported carbons that have contained arsenic or silver residuals. These carbons were not NSF certified by the National Sanitation Foundation. ALL our systems use NSF certified filtration medias, so contamination levels have been tested and deemed safe, as per NSF drinking water standards. We included Prop 65 disclosures on all our products as to ensure ours, and our customers, best interests are ensured and disclosed.
We would recommend the WK-PLA-MUN-1054
It uses high activity catalytic carbon pellets and not a carbon block style filter. This particular systems uses approximately 2 cubic feet of carbon alone.
These are media based systems and DO NOT require any maintenance.
It would be very simple by just shop vacuuming it out and replacing with our recharge kits. Our Platinum systems do however come with a 20 year warranty which does cover the media, so it would be a long time before you should ever need to replenish.
In order to remove sulfur you would need our KW-SPS-ISM-1054 or 1354 models which are not sold through Home Depot.
