Brushless versus non brushless mower what is the difference?

Asked by Leroy August 26, 2019
1
Answer

Brushless motors do not have brushes that depend on contact with the motor to complete the electrical circuit and drive the motor. Brushless, since it doesnt have the drag of the brushes on the motor shaft to use extra power are more efficient and batteries last longer.

The home depot warranty starts after the manufactures warranty expires, so the total warranty period would be whatever both warranties add up to together.

This is my first cordless mower and it has excellent power and very good endurance. What you get in the box: 19" mower 4 amp battery 2 amp battery Battery charger Mulching attachment Side discharge chute Grass catcher Instructions and assembly guide The mower comes completely assembled with the exception of attaching handle. (Note: This is the first mower that I have had in my 61 years that is tall enough to fit me 6'1".) Once the handle is attached (4 bolts) and adjusted all that’s left to do is fully charge both batteries. Install both batteries under the top cover and both battery levels are shown on the rear top of the battery compartment when the "?" button is pushed. Select the mowing height with the single point adjustment handle on the right rear corner of the mower, Insert the key push the start button pull the safety handle and your cutting grass. The first time I started the mower I was taken by how quiet it is. I measured it at 47 to 54 decibels (what we know as moderate rainfall). The mower is much quieter than even a corded electric mower. This mower seems to run at a constant RPM when cutting, you can hear the motor add power when needed. Mowing with this unit is very easy since it's so light. Even for a push mower it almost floats across the lawn and makes a very nice cut. I used it in all three modes of operation, mulcher bagger and side discharge, all modes worked very well. Overall this is a very good mower that ran 40 minutes on one charge more than enough to cut what I needed. Its super quiet and lightweight, highly recommend looking at this mower if you're in the market.

Impressed. I am female, 65 and I love this thing. Light, reliable, good price, 2 batteries and I can store it in my basement. Slight negatives are the batteries take about 2 hrs. each to charge and it lists as having 2 blades, I only see 1. Other than that I would've given it 5 stars.

Batteries overheat easily and must be removed and swapped out often. The lights showing how much battery is left are not accurate. It's possible to mow my small lawn, but requires stopping, and either swapping batteries or waiting for them to cool off. Yard is flat, so that's not the issue.

I got this mower because it was the lightest model I could find in this width. I have a small, hilly yard with lots of maneuvering. For me the mower is a 5 star, but others might want something more robust. There was small issue with a part and Wen sent replacement immediately. Great service.

Very easy to use and works very well. I love that it uses two batteries, and automatically switches to the second one. It cuts my lawn really well.

First it arrived without either of the two batteries. The charger yes, but no batteries. No big deal - called Home Depot and they got with the manufacturer who immediately shipped the missing batteries. Little did I know things would get worse. After quick and easy setup, and after charging and inserting two batteries, I wanted to give the mower a try. Followed the simple starting instructions and the mower worked perfectly....for about 10 seconds. It simply quit running and no matter what I tried or did I could not get it to start back up. Emailed tech support and got the standard auto-reply that they'd respond within one business day. Three days later and I haven't heard a thing. I called this afternoon but placed on hold. Enough of this. Will be returning the mower to Home Depot first thing tomorrow. Really tried to do my homework and checked a lot of reviews, as this was my first foray into a battery powered mower. Very disappointed about apparently just getting a dud of a machine. Will stick to Honda or Toro going forward.
