Great Band Saw for my home workshop. Out of the box it was mostly assembled. The four feet had to be added, and the table installed. Everything else, including the blade was already installed. The manual, written in good english, describes adjustments (alignment, tensioning, etc.) very well, but out of the box, my saw did not require any adjustments. The blade tracked perfectly on the wheels and blade guides. The saw table comes with a fence and a miter gauge. The maximum depth of cut is 3-5/8". It is rather quiet when running, and has the typical sawing noice when actually cutting. The saw has a built in handle on the top which makes it easy to pick up and move around, but the manufacturer recommends for safety that the saw should be bolted to the workbench. This is one tool that I'm going to keep set up on my workbench. If you are a heavy duty woodworker, this may not be the perfect saw, but for me - in my home workshop and home projects - this is the perfect small band saw. I'm very happy with this band saw.

Quick Review : A Review from an active DIYer: This was my first time using a band saw. This loses a star because it does not come with a dust dag. Other things I can overlook but I feel dust bags should be standard Worked well, used this on MDF, OSB, and scrap lumber. Runs pretty quietly. I had no problems making curves. It was fairly simple to adjust the table for angled cuts. More In Depth Review: This was my first foray into using a band saw. I am constantly looking to expand my skillset which is why I got this. This is a handle on top which makes it a little easier to lift it. This thing is about 45lbs so anything to make lifting it easier is a great help. There is a yellow safety key that must be inserted to turn the saw on(look at my picture below). This is my first time using a band saw so I do not have any other experiences to compare it with. Once you shut the saw off, this takes about 8 seconds for the blade to come to a complete stop, I do not know how other saws compare. For some this might be too long, since I use this sparingly this is not an issue for me. This item lacks a dust bag, there is a port for a 2" Vacuum , but it would be great to have a bag I was able to cut MDF,OSB, and lumber with this without any issues. I did not experience the blade binding up. Using this was so easy that I will now take on more projects where I can incorporate this. This is for small work pieces, a few inches. Accessories: Included accessories are: A Fence, Miter gauge, two Allen wrenches(different sizes) and a wrench. Also 4 rubber feet. The feet will leave a black mark so if you put this on something that is delicate I recommend covering it first Recommendations: For me I would like to see on board storage area, if you need tools for your tools you do not want to go looking for them, you want everything in one place. It would be nice to have an on board storage for the Allen wrenches and the wrench that comes with it. Also since everything has a light nowadays I would like to see the next model with an LED. I felt that a dust bag should have been included , maybe next time around.

----The WEN 2.8 Amp 9 in. Benchtop Band Saw is a Winner! This saw is perfect for working on smaller pieces of hard/soft wood, plastic and aluminum. I searched on the Home Depot web site and found multiple brands and saw blades with various tooth spacings (6, 10, 15 and 18 tpi) for replacement of the original 62-inch-long blade. The factory set up of the band saw I received required no adjustment of guide bearings or tracking of the saw blade. I made several cuts of scrap boards in the shop and found the saw to cut straight and square. I would recommend this saw to a friend and for use in a professional environment. ----Further comments on my experience unpacking and the minor assembly required follows below. The packaging for the band saw is great with multiple layers of card board and foam protecting the band saw from damage during shipping. The band saw weighs about 44 lbs. and can be moved and set up by one person. ----The band saw is fully assembled except for the saw table. To install the saw table requires the removal of the "D" nut and wing screw. The "D" nut and wing screw clamp and support the slot in the saw table required for the insertion of saw blade. Next, the table clamp needs to be removed and the saw table moved forward around the saw blade and placed over guide dowels and the gear/knob used to set the cutting angle. The saw table seems loose until the table clamp is reinstalled and tightened. Use a square to set the table at a 90 deg. and clamp the table. Then adjust the "red" angle marker with the Philips screw to zero. Be sure to replace the "D"-nut back into the slot for the saw blade. ----After the saw table installation, the manual details the procedure to center the blade on the pulleys. The next step is to check roller bearings tolerances for the blade guide bearings above and below the saw table. My factory settings were set correctly. ----One other note, Wen makes 2 different "bench top" band saws. My saw Model #3939, 2.8 amps (the one with the handle on top), uses a 62-inch-long blade. The 2nd model #3959, 2.5 amps, uses a 59 ½ blade length. Hope this saves some of you a trip back to the store for a blade exchange.

The blade will not stay tight and straight, you can't turn pieces of wood and have it cut. Very disappointing. Bought it do some wood working projects and it does not do the job expected.

Bought this to make some Adirondack chairs and I have to say it has done a great job. Love that it had the rollers bearing for the blade guide much better then the nylon ones out there.

I really like the fact that the blade guide has roller bearings instead of graphite blocks. These gave me a nice tight curve on my work piece.
