A: I used it to attach heavy, double layer sofa fabric to an oak frame. Thickness of your rug and sufficient length of staples is most important. This unit should drive them with no problems.

A: Yes, it should. I used it for just that purpose when I decided to built a “cat village” or giant cat climber that was carpeted. I used mostly 2x’s, and 1/2 “MDF, 3/4” plywood.

For the money this does the job. I've used...

For the money this does the job. I've used 1/4" all the way to 9/16" T50 staples and it will sink them all in the variety of medium density wood I have worked with. I had one fail to fire and one jam and they cleared easily. The trigger safety is functional but like a gun when it's set to fire it will fire, so be careful with where your hands are and wear safety glasses as it can kick one out if it hits something hard like a nail. I like it. I wish it had a case, but I think I'll use an old empty plastic screw box to store it in. Sure beats pulling the manual stapler which tires my hand after a dozen or so.
