3-Pad Residential quality, NOT the 6-Pad Commercial quality clutch assembly I was led to believe I was receiving.
The item was a good price, arrived quickly, and was a direct replacement, it is easy to install, I installed it last night. But, from the other reviews and description, I was led to believe this was the 6-pad commercial quality washing machine clutch rather than the 3-pad residential washing machine clutch I am replacing. I am disappointed the picture of the item doesn't show this assembly is the 3-pad residential clutch, only 4-stars for this reason. Other reviews say this is still a quality product even though on 3-clutch pads, I hope so, I guess I will find out, after one load of laundry this item does appear to be working as it should.

Successfully Replaced Slipping Clutch
Washer was giving poor spin performance, so I replaced the clutch assembly. The replacement clutch only had three clutch pads whereas the original clutch had six pads. Found out after replacement that commercial washers use the six pad clutches whereas consumer grade washers use three pad clutches. This was a heavy duty washer so maybe that is why there were originally six pads. The instructions note that you may be replacing what was originally a six pad clutch with a three pad clutch. The diameter of the wire used in the spring clip that came with this kit was too large and would not fit the groove on the transmission shaft so had to use the original spring clip. Washer seems to be working well now. Hope it lasts for a few years with the three clutch pads.

At $14 it was the cheapest option I could fine....
At $14 it was the cheapest option I could fine. Fit perfectly and my old washer is running like new.
