This engraver has some very good features. First off it has a replaceable tip which is inserted into the chuck and locked in place by a set screw which is tightened by the enclosed allen wrench.
Once inserted, just switch it on, adjust the amount of vibration you wish and begin engraving. The tool is comfortable to use thanks to a good design and a rubber coating all over.
It comes with a set of alphabet patterns & images.

This is a nice electric engraver with a variable depth knob on the side of the unit to increase or decrease the depth of the engraving. This engraver also comes with 2 stencil pages the use for more accurate engraving. All you have to do is hold it like a pen and start engraving. The engraver is lightweight and has a soft touch grip making it easy to use. The engraver can be used on many different items including wood, metal and plastic.

This WEN brand engraving tool is well-designed, and it comes with handy templates to use so you can mark just about anything (see pictures of all the templates). The manual with the tool gives a lot of good tips on using the engraving tool, with the idea of practicing on scrap material before marking anything as the top contender in my opinion! This tool can mark metal, glass, leather, wood, plastic, and ceramic material. I used it to put a single letter on some of my tools (see picture) to identify them in case they are loaned out or even just mixed up with other tools if I am working on a joint project with someone. If you work on it, you can probably make some artistic designs as well. The side control (see picture) adjusts depth of the stroke of the carbide bit, and the top has a simple on/off switch, so this tool is very easy to use. I highly recommend it for any marking or engraving you might need to do around the house or shop!

Another tool that has been long overdue. Have you ever worked with another DIY and gotten your tools or sockets mixed up? Now I can engrave all my hand tools, sockets, electrical tools, and pretty much everything with identifying ID so there’s no question whose tools are whose. The tool is rubber coated and rests easily with on the top of my hand with its ergonomic design. The carbide tip will engrave into virtually anything and has a positive on/off switch and vibration control to vary the amount of force exerted on to your item being engraved. The two templates with alphabet, numbers, and icons will also be a lot of fun, engraving the grand kids' toys and water glasses with boy and girl outlines, along with their names. Not only useful, it’s fun!

My wife does a lot of detail work on my scroll saw pieces, like adding lines a scroll saw just can’t do. She opened this up, read the directions and went straight to work. Say the instruction were very well written and it is easy to use and engraves just like she needed it to do. If you knew my wife, you would know that is very high praise. Wen has done it again, another great tool!

This has worked out well. The instructions should include a comment that the kit comes with a spare set screw, and that a set screw is already installed in the ferrule.
Would like to talk to a Wen engineer about alternative bits that engravers may find useful in refining their work.

great inexpensive engraver
i use this mostly to engrave my tools with my name and it does the job, just be aware the on and off switch might go bad like mine, but i just replace it myself

Good value
Decent tool, decent price. So far it seems to be holding up well. The stencils are a bit awkward for metal work the the tool sees, and have rapidly deteriorated at the hands of my students. I have seen and used higher preforming tools, but for the price and the general needs of the classes I teach this seems to be just fine.

Works Great. The extra set screw in parts bag not needed, set screw already installed. I didn’t realize at first set screw was already installed, being so small. I tried to install one in bag , not needed unless lose first set screw
