      A:  Hello there, Wyze cameras are meant to work with an internet connection, which allows you to view the Live Stream, get notifications, and change your camera settings in the Wyze app. You must have an internet connection to set up the camera and configure it with the Wyze app. And if you have a microSD card inserted and Local recording to the microSD card turned on in your settings, the camera will continuously record to that microSD card, even if offline.           A:  Hello there! Thanks for your question. Wyze Cam can only connect to 2.4GHz WiFi networks with WPA/WPA2 password protection. Wyze Cam cannot connect to WiFi networks that have a portal page (also called a landing or login page) mostly used in hotels where the user must accept terms and conditions and/or enter login credentials or payment information. This type of WiFi is commonly found in hotels and other public places. The reason Wyze Cam cannot connect to this type of network is that the camera has no web browser interface allowing the user to enter the required info. It is possible, however, to connect Wyze Cam to this type of network by using an inexpensive travel router such as GL.iNet as an intermediary bridge between the camera and the public WiFi network.                         Contact sensors not working.
                        This is my second wyze camera with starter kits. I bought this one with kit because I needed contact sensors for my parents in Turkey.The one of them didn’t even connect to the bridge, the second one connected then stopped working after 3-4 days.

                            Buyer beware!
                            The sensor stopped working after battery died. I had it for a little more than a year before the battery died. Replaced the battery and now both sensors do not connect to the bridge. It is a known issue and you can read about it in their webpage. I contacted their support but they will not help since it has been more than a year. basically a one time use till battery dies which is ridiculous. The motion sensor gets triggered by passing vehicle's headlights so I have constant false alarms (notifications). I also have Wyze door lock which keeps losing calibration. I went from being fan and owning many of Wyze products to never buying a Wyze product again.

                              The motion sensor stopped functioning within 48 hours. When I inspected it I found that the case doesn’t hold the battery firmly in place. The camera and door/window sensors are adequate. However, the delay between an incident and notification is too long.. more than 3 minutes. Enough time for an intruder to get to the opposite end of the house. By comparison I receive an alert from my doorbell camera instantly (another brand).

The only downside is, I wish that you could set to record each time the camera comes on. If you're not watching to hit record, you may miss something you may have wanted to capture.
