AnswersIt means that the transformer has the ability to provide an output of up to 12v DC @ 5 Amps to your device. Actual INPUT current is probably around 1.5 to 2 Amp at 120 VAC under a full 5 Amp DC Load.

Answers"A inside" what? If you mean a device normally run off of a car's electrical system that you want to use indoors, then yes, as long as it draws 5A or less at 12VDC.

Does what it's supposed to do, adequate to pre-cool a thermoelectric travel cooler that draws 4 amps. Cords are a little short (30" on plug side, 18" on outlet side). Gets a bit warm during use.
