The 'kit' is about 14 ounces consisting of: Battery pack, charging cable 36" long (USB 'A' plug to micro USB plug), 12VDC cigar lighter to to 5VDC USB adapter (rated at 1 Amp), alligator clips (for a car battery with 10 AWG flexible/soft cables) through a 'protection module that has a pair of LED indicators (R/G to indicate status) and audio alarm, plugs into the battery packs high current jacks, and a sack to store all of it. The Lithium Ion battery pack has, 4 blue charge status indicators, micro USB input (charging) and USB 'A' power (output) ports, heavy jacks to connect the alligator clip protection module, on/off switch, 'enable' button (activates the USB output jack and/or the LED, the LED is switched between on, fast strobe, and good Morse SOS..SOS. When connecting the "protection module" to the battery, the module flashes a pair of LEDs red & green. If any current is delivered from the battery pack and internal timer starts and will disconnect the output in 30 seconds. I did not have the need to use this pack to jump start a vehicle. To make this work, it assumes a good - discharged battery and then dumps surface charge into it to crank the vehicle. I would not expect this to jump start a frozen cold diesel. I've used it to recharge a couple of cell phones when we did not have AC power available. FYI A typical cell phone has about 3000mAh capacity (when new, degrades with use/age). Since the battery is about 7 ounces it keeps a phone charged for a good weekend camping trip! My vehicle has a 12VDC power outlet, (only on when running) in the center arm rest bin. The 12VDC to 5VDC cigar plugs in there and micro cable to battery pack. Keeps it fully charged.

Useful for recharging small electronic devices for several hours. The Wagan Tech iOnBoost Slim Lithium Jumpstarter (model # 7504) is really small. Smaller than most smart phones, and about the same weight. My first impression was, “how could this possibly start a car?” Unfortunately -- OK, fortunately, I don’t have a dead car battery so I wasn’t able to verify that function. But I was able to thoroughly test its other functions and features. After fully charging the unit itself (it took about 4.5 hours), I used it to recharge a cell phone, a GPS, and an action camera a couple times each over the course of 3 days. It succeeded, providing about 5 hours of charging. Do note: if you basically keep the unit in storage waiting around for an emergency, you will need to recharge it every 3 months to keep it topped off and ready to use. The instructions are clear, and the accessories all add to the PowerBank’s usefulness across a variety of situations. There’s an adapter to charge the unit from your car’s power outlet, jumper cables, and a miniature LED flashlight, which is quite bright and has “strobe” and “SOS” modes. This unit is rated at 5400mAh. Home Depot has others rated for as much as 12000mAh that aren’t much more expensive. That might make all the difference during a power outage or on a long trip, so do your research.

The IONBOOST Jumpstarter/Powerbank is a great backup power device to have around your home or office (or kept in your vehicle for that matter.) It can quickly charge the typical cell phone, tablet or other portable electronic device or can be used to directly power them via the supplied usb cable. It also has a built-in bright flashlight or warning light with two "flashing" (warning light) settings to choose from. I have tested it and it charged my android phone and tablet batteries quickly. I did not try it yet on jump-starting a car battery, but the supplied cables look to make that task easy too. I'm glad I have this unit now as a part of my hand-held electronic devices.

Rated at 20 watt-hours, as a power bank it can charge electronic equipment such as telephones and computer pads. As a battery jump starter, it is capable of starting automotive engines up to six cylinders. The unit comes with a micro USB cable as well as an automotive 12 volt adapter; both can be used to recharge the unit. For automotive jump starting, the unit is equipped with hefty automotive battery clamps and is also equipped with reverse polarity protection. This is obviously a very important feature. In the field, the unit was able to start a six cylinder sports car without any problems. Some users report failures in starting a car or recharging the unit as the unit becomes older. At this point, these shortcomings cannot be confirmed. As a bonus, the unit is equipped with a flash light. This feature is of obvious value when jump-starting a car at night. A light, cloth carrying case is a thoughtful addition. Highly recommended without reservations.

Even if all this could do was charge your phone, I can't think of a more important piece of emergency equipment to have on hand. This will also help you get your car going again - imagine something this small and compact, being able to charge your cars' battery (something that feels like an emergency whenever it happens.) With a charge we tried last night, it succeeded in charging one phone in 1.5 hours, when the jumpstarter itself needed charging. It's not as heavy-duty as I might have hoped, but I am still glad to have it for part of my emergency plan.

I would definitely recommend this product to anyone who has a teenager just getting their driver's license or a wife that drives in the winter at night. This product is great for someone that needs to jump start their vehicle but does not feel safe asking for help or has no way of calling for help. This product also lets you recharge your cell phones and tablets if needed. this product is a great thing to have in the trunk or glove box for piece of mind.

Needed some backup protection for a 2 month motorcycle road trip and this was the most compact jumpstarter I could find. I haven't had to use it but I'm assuming it will work if I need it. The price from Home Depot was very good.

I bought this to start my neighbor's lawn tractor and kept in my car for emergencies. It worked a few times. Then the light was always red instead of green and it would not work. I had to order for in store pickup so I do not have a receipt. Now it's a $70 flashlight. I'd like to either return it or get a replacement.
