If you are looking for wild bird food that just about any bird will love, this is it! I put these seeds in both a tall black seed feeder and a ball feeder. Even with all the rain we have been having, the birds have been coming to both feeders to feast! the ball feeder was empty within two days. The tall feeder is about half way down and I am having a great time watching them feed even in this bad weather. I would recommend these to any bird-watchers out there.

Sunflower seeds are probably the best choice of seed for feeding all types of birds and is universally accepted by them. It provides the protein and fat content that many birds need to survive winter cold, providing them with the needed energy, calories and fat from the oil in the seeds. It comes in a a sealed bag which assures freshness and prevents the ssed from going stale. The seeds appear to be of a food size and quality.

I have a number of cardinals and blue jays that visit my backyard everyday. I usually put out a mix seed but decided to try out just sunflower to see how the birds would like it. The sunflower seeds are mostly all intact, and a few twigs can be found in the mix but not as bad as some discount mixes I have tried. What I found is the smaller birds don’t touch it and neither do the pigeons. (Yeah!) I’ve seen a few jays stop by and a few cardinals. So I think it will last a long Time and bring the birds I want to see in my yard.

We like to watch birds out our back doors/windows. We have 4 feeders and try to use a mix that will attract a variety. This mix seems to attract all kinds. In the photo, we decided to sprinkle a few handfuls on the back porch see we could see up close what kind of birds came. There are cardinals, finches, sparrows and even 2 dove just outside the picture. This is a good quality mix.

Wagner's 5 lb. 100% Striped Sunflower Seed Wild Bird Food is a big hit with the birds (and squirrels) We’d been filling our feeder with “black oil sunflower” seeds and were curious to see how the birds would like Wagner's 100% Striped Sunflower Seed Wild Bird Food (Model # 62028). Apparently just as much as the black oil variety. Definitely worth getting if you like feeding/watching birds. The squirrels like them too, scavenging the unopened seeds that fall on the ground. Be aware that ANY brand of sunflower seeds results in a mess of shells and hulls on the ground beneath the feeder - see pic - not a criticism, just be prepared to sweep frequently. Note: We received this item free from Home Depot’s “Seeds” program. Home Depot only asked that we provide an honest review.

These are good quality seeds, very clean no dust etc, but just did not do what I was hoping. I purchased them as I wanted to discourage the sparrows from guzzling all the seeds in my feeder before the cardinals etc. I had read that sparrows have more trouble getting gray sun flower seeds open (versus black which are like candy for them) but unfortunately that was not the case for the hoards that visit my feeder.
