Q:Would this setup be tough enough to sand/prep the exterior of my home before painting? Thanks

    Answer This Question

A:  An electric sander will be much easier and faster to use. Mike

    by|Mar 5, 2022

A:  Yes, you can use this pole sander for interior or exterior projects.

    by|Aug 23, 2018

A:  It is primarily used for drywall. While you can use it for other sanding projects, I'm not sure that a home exterior would be a project that I would use it on.

      by|Sep 12, 2018

A:  No. Use a polyester brush for a drill. Wear safety glasses and have fun.

        by|Mar 26, 2019

A:  I would say no because this is typically used to sand drywall mud. Exterior paint usually has to be power washed or hand scraped to be prepped correctly.

            Answer This Question

A:  Yes, you can, however depending on the size of the floor a mechanical sander would be preferred.

A:  Not really, unless you are needing just a light sanding. Typically hard wood floors that need sanding require a barrel roller sander.

Q:would this tool be used on a dry stoomped ceiling to just nock down the texter a bit?

            Answer This Question

            A:  Yes

            by|Jul 18, 2018

A:  If you sprayed on texture (like an orange peel finish) and you want to smoth off the rounded edges, then yes, this will do great. If you did a knock down and want to sand off the rough edges before you paint then this is great too, just go easy on it. If you're trying to remove popcorn ceiling, then no, this is not what you need.

A:  Using a finer sandpaper it could. You will need to experiment with the various grits to see if you can get what your looking for. Just be sure your ceiling texture does not contain asbestos, sanding it is the worst thing you could do if it does.

Couldn't have done the project without it!
The two features most important with a tool like this are the swivel and the ease of which you can change out the sand paper. I was able to sand out in every position with ease, especially, over-head. When it came time to switch out the sand paper, it was done in literally no time, because it didn't have the conventional screw clamp. It had a pressure clamp that had the job done with a squeeze. Finally the pole length was just right, some products are to long and make it difficult in close quarters. If you want to make your sanding job simple and quick, this is the product for you!!

                        It's a Wall Board Sander...it works.
No rocket science here. It is a simple wall board sander with spring loaded clamps at either end. I had zero problems using it as a beginner. If I had one complaint it would be that I bought a contractor's pack of sandpaper not realizing that if you wait for the plaster to dry one piece lasts a LONG time LOL.

It does what it expected. I purchased one before and it broke before I finished the job. This one is holding up longer so far. We shall see. I was actually wanting to purchase the round head pole sander but it isn’t offered at home depot yet. Bummer. Had to make this one do.
