64 in. Gray Wash Wood 4-shelf Etagere Bookcase with Open Back

I purchased three with the Whitewash finish to achieve the look of one, continuous 90” bookcase. It looks beautiful! I wasn’t sure if the whitewash or grey wash would work best for the bedroom space, so I originally ordered each finish. The grey wash was darker in person and too dark for the look I wanted. The whitewash was perfect! It has a grey-ish graining that looks like real wood and is quite attractive in person. It is darker than it appears online. The first two bookshelves were badly damaged and had to be returned. But the return process was easy and the other units were perfect. My husband put each piece together in about 10 minutes. Everything you need is included and the directions are super simple and straightforward. The shelves are sturdy enough for the multiple books and decorative items I have on them. I even have a 35” TV on the top of one of them. They are sitting on carpet—no problem. They’ve been up for a couple weeks now and we haven’t gotten around to securing them to the wall Our thick baseboard prevent us from using the brackets provided and I’ve yet to find ones big enough to reach the wall, but I’m not worried, because unless you pulled on them, they’re not going anywhere. Very happy with this purchase!

We ordered two of these bookcases with the matching TV stand to have a much less expensive but still great looking entertainment center. Especially after assembling the first one, the second was a breeze, though even the first one was pretty straightforward. Good to have two people to hold everything steady/aligned but can be done solo, too. We had one top board that had sheared, but by using wood glue and tightening appropriately, you can't even tell..

Great farmhouse look! These shelves in white oak look great against my assessable beige (taupe) walls and were easy to assemble. They are not sturdy when assembled so it’s important to attach the clips to the wall. So make sure you like the location before attaching. They were also a bit on the pricey side since I ordered two and put my file cabinet in between them. I’m happy with them overall.

It has an open feel with an interesting rustic appeal that lets the wall colors blend with the bookcase. It consists of four shelves 64-inches tall and 30-inches wide and 14-inches deep. The unit is well built and I put a small television on one shelf and an old component stereo/radio unit on another. It helps from the black metal cross bracing on the back of the unit to stabilize it. They also provide a hook to attach the bookcase to the wall. This is do to the height and open construction of the bookcase. Once I filled it, it is much more solid. As to construction, its all MDF with a veneer like covering. MDF is heavy and this one weights about sixty pounds. It came in a well protected package with Styrofoam padding sheets protecting everything resulting in no damage. The bookcase does require assembling, but it is not difficult, primarily using Allen screws holding everything together with a little glue for four dowels they provide. The uprights, left and right, come all assembled and you need to screw down the shelf's and top to them. Then the back bracing consisting of metal bars are attached with more screws to add rigidity. It took a relaxed half hour to assemble. I assembled plenty of furniture and this was well planned, everything fit perfectly with some extra screws included, just in case. It has an industrial look to it when assembled, but the wood veneer softens the look overall. Its a bookcase design, but the high height shelf's make it perfect for creative uses

Very nice shelf. The box came damaged via UPS but the shelf was packed well and no damage occurred to the shelf. The instructions were clear and precise. Even though they weren't needed. I recommend 2 people to put it together, just for ease. I did it by myself by leaning 1 side on a wall. But having a second person would have cut the assembly time from 10 minutes to 2 easily. The shelf is very sturdy and looks amazing. Remember to attach the child tip over bracket!

Easy to assemble and great looking

The boxes arrived securely packaged and undamaged. I did the store pick-up option. My 16 year old son assembled both units and seemed a relatively simple task for him. I'm pleased with the finish and overall look of the pieces. I am happy with my purchase and would recommend to anyone looking for something like this.

This is a very nice bookshelf. Sturdy, attractive, and easy to assemble. It looks good and is functional - the gray wash matches other Walker Edison pieces of the same color. We've had the bookshelf 3 months - by it's construction, it should last a lifetime.
