Sorry to hear the predrilled holes are not convenient for your application. Stud spacing can very dependent on home age and construction. 16 in on center is no longer standard in many areas. AnswersLooks like a very precise straight painted wood - but the weight of a plastic and not a "cheap looking plastic molded item". OK so I do not know what it is made of - but it looks very good and is not bent or warped or has knotty wood - and it doesn't look like trees died for it just to be painted to not even hide ugly or waste beautiful wood.
Is there something, like a cap to cover the screws? Or are the always visible?

I bought three of these to display family photos on...
I bought three of these to display family photos on a short wall, and they are exactly what I wanted. I am pleased with the quality of the design, construction and finish. They do not have mounting hardware but the holes are predrilled.

I purchased and installed three of these for decorative display of very large but cardboard light site maps in my office, and everyone loves the new look. Now I'm thinking of buying more to be able to rotate personal photos and holiday items at home.

Good shelf but not worth it if not prepared
The shelf itself is fine and it’s nice that there are already holes drilled however I did not realize when ordering that it doesnt come with hardware. Went through a massive headache finding screws and anchors that happened to be laying around the house. The shelf itself is not worth the hassle unless you go out of your way to find proper hanging hardware.

The shelves look nice and are well finished, but, when...
The shelves look nice and are well finished, but, when installed they tip forward a bit. I could not get them to hang straight. A disappointment. I have artwork on them and they look OK, but would have preferred a cleaner look if they had been straight.
