Reply Upvote An extra use is to remove the inner leaking part of the anti siphon valve that is on the end of the house spicket. The top part with the lid cut at 1 inch 1/8 right where the first z starts to angle inward. Is the size that when cut clean with a ratchet pvc tube cutter heating the tube in hot water and fill the tube with a object before squeezing down can help keep it from cracking. I have used a folded up zip fizz tube piece inside helps out.I leave the cap on until inserting the tube into the gutted time waster until it is flush with the top so as to be screwed into original place. If you always leave a hose in a holder you make out a coat hanger or wire so it never in any water ever there really is no need for the anti siphon. THE RESTRICTION caused by this time waster IS ABOUT HALF THE AVAILABLE WATER FLOW. This allows for faster watering and you may use less water by getting the job done in less time. I found the water squirter that looks like a funnel shot out 6 feet further this extra amount of water. So the cooling I do is 6 feet higher into trees.

Is this item safe to use in potable water systems?

I need a back flow preventer when connecting my camper to the park water supply
Asked by: RICHARD
These items are safe but because of code, no garden hose or garden hose fitting can be "considered" for potable water as you could be pumping a chemicals and they could back siphon into your water supply so thus the reading you do not see for use. But people use them every single day and the VB will actually stop any chemicals etc. Remember in the winter to remove your garden hose and drain the VB by pulling down on the pin inside the unit.
