  • Steel construction provides incredible durability
  • Polypropylene liner preserves water flavor
The Water Worker 26 Gal. Pressurized Well Tank is pre-charged and designed to maintain its air charge for years to provide easy upkeep. The tank utilizes a thick diaphragm to keep water separate from pre-charged air and to help reduce air loss. This tank also features a steel shell to support the water weight, a polypropylene liner to help prevent taste or odor from being absorbed into the water and deep-drawn steel construction for durability.
  • Designed as a direct-fit replacement for the majority of installed well tank bases
  • Constructed of deep-drawn steel for durability
  • Polypropylene-lined steel supports water weight to ensure water never sits in loose-fitting vinyl or rubber bags that can fold, crease and wear
  • NSF certified
  • Polypropylene liner separates water from the steel shell to prevent taste or odor from being absorbed into the water, formed liner fits the steel shell for added durability
  • Sizing - count the number of water fixtures in and outside the home and multiply that # by 3; fixtures include faucets, spigots, shower heads, dish washer, washing machine, etc. for hot tubs and sprinkler systems add 1 to 2 fixtures for each; there are no disadvantages to having a larger well tank as fewer pump cycles will extend pump life and save money on electricity

  • Thick diaphragm keeps water separate from pre-charged air and helps to reduce air loss
  • Molded diaphragm offers an ideal fit, sits on top of the water and will not fold, crease or drag against the steel shell

Questions & Answers

Tank pressure relief valve

I purchased this tank and the instructions make clear that I need a pressure relieve valve which was not installed in my system. The pictures in the instructions are blurred and so it is not clear where this valve & the type of valve needs to be installed. There is a threaded female opening in the top middle of the tank. Can I put the valve there? If not, where should I put the valve? Why didn't this tank come with a pressure relief valve? Thanks
Asked by: HR
prv goes in t bar, don't know what the threaded opening is on top of the tank I can see the rubber diafram looking in it. I will put a plug in it because if diaphragm fails it will leak water. and there is nothing in the instructions about it.

Does the tank have to be installed at the pump, or can it be installed in a shed about 40' away from the pump?
Asked by: Fred
By my understanding of how these work, I would think it's better to be closer to where the water is going to come out than where it comes in. You mention a shed so you must be in a warm climate...just remember that water's going to be room temperature when you're not running it a lot. :)

26 Gal. Pressurized Well Tank is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 49.

After resetting the pressure in the tank to match my pressure switch (minus 2 psi), I installed it with no problems. Been using it for a week now with no problems. The tank seems very well made. It has a steel base, which I like a lot better than the plastic base my old tank had. I mounted it on pressure treated 2 x 4 s to isolate it from the cement slab. We get a lot of moisture where live, everything rusts very quickly here. The paint on the tank looks very good, no scratches or signs of rust Very pleased with the tank and the quick delivery.

What a great well tank , from the welds to the paint job , along with the metal base ( not plastic ). I choose the 26 over the 20 tank and it works just great. This size tank is not at the local Home Depot and had to be ordered , but it came way ahead of their delivery date! About five days . This tank is narrow about 15.5 inches wide and 39 inches tall. Since I had put a union on the 1 inch pipe going into the old well tank ..... it made installing the new tank a breeze ! The 26 gallon tank is cheaper that the 20 gallon tank , you can't go wrong , I give it five stars .

Installation was straight forward for a plumbing job. The new tank replaces a thirty year old twenty gallon tank that had come to require air charging every two weeks. The new one has been in place for a month and works great. One less worry! The only "problem" is that it is taller than the old tank so I have to go back to The Home Depot for materials to build a nice new well house to replace the old shabby house.

We may be returning the tank, because he believes the bladder is already damaged, and we literally installed tank last weekend! the tank itself looks great from outside, but is not holding pressure at all. So if it isn't our check valve, its the tank itself. Will update when I can.

Turned off breaker for well, opened a faucet, cut copper tubing/pipe with a tubing cutter, pulled old tank out, unscrewed pipe from old pipe, screwed pipe on new tank, sat tank in place, slipped a sharkbite coupling at the cut and pressed together. Done in 10 minutes. Great deal.

I just added a Shark Bite connector in the middle of the pipe, as some reviewers recommended. This tank immediately solved my rusty water problem.
