What is the thread size.... 1/2" NPT or 1/2" IPS?
Hello DonnyCash - The TAV pivot ball uses a 1/2" NPSM thread.
I just bought the Waterpik 5 spray 3.8 in shower head. The pivot ball nut cannot be turned by hand. It can be turned slightly with a wrench. Is this normal or is there something wrong with this shower head?

Hello Pwolf - It attaches to a standard 1/2 inch NPT. However, please note that this is a fixed mount shower head and is not meant to be used as a handheld. If you are looking specifically for a handheld shower head, please check out model TAV-559E that is also available through Home Depot.
There's no connections for a hose unless you have some sort of adapter

What's the flow rate/gpm is the restrictor is removed? I have the TAV-529E (1.8 gpm) and I removed the restrictor. The water pressure is intense. Wife needed/wanted a stronger pressure; well, she's got it. However, I am curious the unrestricted gpm. Is it 2.5 gpm if restrictor is removed?

I don’t have a way to measure gpm. But I installed the shower head and the flow was terrible. I removed the filter/flow restrictor and there was improvement. Still not great, but good enough.
