Product Overview
Many opportunities exist within this S4S poplar board family. These top grade boards may be used for cabinetry, furniture, shelving, trim, hobby and other utilitarian work. This smooth-textured board can be painted or stained to compliment or match your homes decor. Unlike pine they do not allow bleed through and have less grain raise. Due to the similar grain pattern they can be stained to imitate other more expensive species, such as walnut or cherry. All our boards are double end trimmed with a moulded finish providing a high quality appearance for any do-it-yourself or professional project. Also, our boards are SFI certified.

This wood worked pretty well for my use: to frame a recessed opening on the top of a table and to create a lattice effect under the eat-in counter in the kitchen. I stained the table top and it took the stain fairly well, though a little splotchy despite a lot of sanding, and I painted the lattice, which worked very nicely. The only issue that I had was that the pieces were not completely uniform in height (the 1/4 inch measurement), so I wasn't able to get a completely flat surface after I put them together. It doesn't matter that much, and I'm the only one who will notice it, but just a warning to pick your pieces carefully if the height matters.
