Product Overview

  • Pressure treated lumber for long lasting performance
  • Treated for protection against fungal decay, rot and termites
  • Use for decks, walkways, landscaping and other outdoor projects
Pressure-Treated Pine meets the highest grading standards for strength and appearance. This item is treated for use in above ground applications. An additional benefit of treated lumber is its defense against rot and insect infestation for its vast majority of applications. Southern yellow pine is responsibly manufactured, safe and environmentally friendly when used as directed. As lumber dries, it may split, cup and warp. This is more likely to occur in lower-grade boards, where knots and uneven grains are already present. Each piece of lumber is unique and carries physical characteristics that may include the following: knots, warping, shrinkage, swelling and/or splitting.
  • Pressure treated for long life
  • For use in above ground applications
  • Pressure treated with WeatherShield water repellant
  • Nominal size of 5/4 in. x 6 in. x 8 ft.
  • Defense against rot and insect infestation for its vast majority of applications
  • Responsibly manufactured, safe and environmentally friendly when used as directed

Questions & Answers

what ingredients are used in pressure treatment of wood?

what ingredients are used in pressure treatment of wood?
Asked by: Kenny
This lumber is treated with Micronized Copper Azole (MCA), which is a micronized preservative-containing copper and biocides. During the pressure-treating process, those particles are suspended — rather than dissolved — in a wood preservative solution. The micronized copper eliminates the need for a solvent, which is required for other treatment methods. The preservative penetrates the wood's cellular structure, giving the lumber long-lasting resistance to decay and termites.
