Hello! The cooking grate is not hinged. Thanks!
The grill grate covers the entire bottom half of the grill. As soon as you take the lid off you’ll have an area big enough to grill just about anything you want. I’ve grilled steaks & burgers at the same time several different times with this grill, I highly recommend this grill.
Well, if you buy a small bag, I use about half per cookout. I usually only make a couple of things and it is perfect for that. If there are more items, just a little bit more, but it lasts for a long time. One thing...Leave the bottom vent barely open and the same with the top vent, once the coals are white. You almost can't burn anything with this grill even if you try! I prefer the natural wood lump charcoal. It burns for a long time. Good luck!
I ve use Weber for over 30 years and the cooking surface seems to be perfect if you keep coal level no more than 2 layers and use the lid.
Not much more than 18 1/2" if you look at the pic.
Yes - there's a hook built into the lid, it just hangs on the edge of the grill.
No, but you can balance the spatula on the lip under the lid handle and it won't get too hot to handle from there.
The grill emits as much smoke as you allow. You have control of the upper and lower vents. If you close both vents it will cut off air and gradually the fire will go out. The amount of smoke is also related to the type of charcoal or wood that you are using and the how you start the fire. I recommend you ensure the fire gets off to a fast start with dry wood or charcoal if you want to minimize smoke.
Use the bottom vent blades and the handle under the grill. Go back and forth and the used ashes will drop onto the bowl underneath. Then turn the spring clips around and remove the bowl and dump it. Pretty good system. Do it after every use though. Otherwise, the bottom will rust.
Hello Joe, There is no rotisserie option for our 18" models. Additional separate accessories include items like covers, grilling tools and tool hooks. Thanks!
