Can someone please buy one of these and give a comprehensive review! I am dying to know if they are worth me spending my $$$. Also, how rust proof is the new bottom area?
Asked by: PatG
Just provided one! The grill is incredible and does a fantastic job, with all the bells and whistles being icing on the cake. Can't comment on the rust issue but so far so good!

Can this be connected to a gas line or do you have to use a propane tank?

Asked by: Jordan
This unit uses LP gas only, but I believe Weber also makes a model that uses natural gas.

Spirit II E-310 3-Burner Propane Gas Grill in Black is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 407.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Cooks better, but built cheaper than original. I had the previous version and got this to upgrade. It does cook better than the previous version. It gets a bit hotter and the heat is more even. That said Weber is obviously cutting some costs here. The lid is much lighter and the metal is so thin i can easily push it down with just my fingers. The knobs are cheaper plastic and feel flimsy. The side tables are much cheaper and flimsy. It does have a good 10 year warranty, but i would be shocked if it lasted much longer than that. These arent 20-30 year grills like the old ones. Still better than a char broil, or some no name brand, but its a shame to see weber cheapen up their products like this.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not what we are used to with Weber quality Our old Genesis silver lasted us almost 20 years. We decided to stay with a similar model for our new Weber. Quality is not there compared to the old Weber. Though we do enjoy the new grill it is almost impossible to move around - and yes - we did assemble it correctly! Why didn't you put a handle on it - instead of the flimsy shelves??? Also the new cover is no where near the quality of our old one. We'll stay with Weber as long as we continue to grill - but it's not the grill it was 15-20 years ago.

I had the Weber Spirit Grill for about 6 years and was looking for an upgrade. I was not disappointed, my 17 year old daughter and I assembled the grill in about 45 minutes, it wasn't too bad, we only had to take one part off and reverse it. I also bought the iGrill thermometers and the first thing I grilled was pork tenderloins, needless to say they came out perfect. I would highly recommend this grill, I compared this to the Kitchen Aid and other brands, but came back to the Weber for the purchase. I was able to control the heat at 350 by turning the knobs down, some grills are hot or warm, but temp control was easy to maintain here. While I would have liked to seen stainless steel grates, that is the only feature I would have opted for. Overall it was an excellent buy.

I’ve owned a lot of grills over the years, but this is my first Weber branded product. For the most part, I am impressed, and gained some insight why these grills have attracted a strong following among grillers. For me, the primary indication of a great grill is how well it cooks food. I know this is a subjective evaluation, but I’ve used many other grills (LP gas and charcoal), so I have a sense of how they compare. Some of the things I look for in a grill, and my opinion of the Weber’s performance: Does the food cook evenly? Yes, it heats quickly, and cooks evenly across the griddle, no matter where the food is placed. Does it flare-up causing safety issues? No, very little flare-up was experienced. Does it cook with reasonable speed? Yes, it heated up more quickly than my prior gas grill. Can the temperature be controlled sufficiently, to avoid disappointing results? Yes, the control knobs have a variable adjustment from off to high, and everywhere in between, with detents at low, medium and high heat levels. Does the footprint of the grill allow for convenient storage? I think this is a moderately-sized grill. I was able to clear doorways to move it to our patio. However, the foldable left side shelf must be lifted to roll the grill because the two wheels are located on the right side. The folding shelf is not sturdy and maneuvering the grill without having the shelf collapse was difficult. The shelf provides leverage to lift the grill and it was difficult to lift the heavy grill from the ground unless it is grabbed by the extended shelf. I think a better design is called for here. What is the grilling capacity? The grate footprint was large enough to simultaneously cook large steaks for four people and could easily accommodate more food depending on portion size. What storage is available for utensils? There are 3 hooks integrated into the right shelf to hang utensils, and an open, exposed shelf below the grill. The LP tank is protected by a shelf above, but otherwise it is exposed to the elements, and there is no fully protected storage to hold smaller items such as temperature probes, spare plates, etc. Can I monitor gas consumption, so that I don’t run out of gas unexpectedly? The LP storage bracket holds a standard 20-lb propane container by its lip. The bracket incorporates a scale with icons showing the estimated fuel remaining in the tank. I have not yet consumed enough fuel to judge the accuracy of the scale, but it is a nice feature even if it is an estimate, and it sure beats guessing. It was easy to load the tank onto this bracket and to change fuel lines. Is it easy to get a flame? The auto-igniter worked flawlessly. The battery storage is located underneath the grilling area, which requires that you get to your knees to change the battery. With so much going for it, I’m not sure why the design did not accommodate a battery storage location that is more accessible. Assembly I assembled this grill myself. I find that when I assemble a product myself, I get a better understanding of how well (or poorly) the product is designed and the quality of the manufacture. It took me about 2 hours to put his grill together and it required just two tools (a rubber mallet and Phillips screwdriver). I am a skilled DIY, but this product is so well-designed that a novice should have no difficulty assembling it. One caution is that the product arrives unassembled, and the components are tightly packed and nested inside one another. It is very important to completely unpack everything to be sure you have all the parts. In fact, I thought one part was missing, but it turned out to be packed inside the compartment of another component. The fasteners are also neatly gathered in several separately labeled plastic bags, making it very easy to quickly identify the many small parts. I really like the fact that NOT A SINGLE NUT is required to assemble the product, all the nuts are pre-welded into the receiving parts – if you’ve ever had to reach around large parts to hold a nut to secure the mating screw, you’ll really appreciate how much this speeds the assembly. The front of the printed assembly manual advises the availability of a free 3-D app which can be downloaded to a smart phone (see picture) . I took advantage of this and found the app to be very helpful to understand the process, as well as to submit my warranty registration. I used the app to enlarge and identify parts, to rotate them (using my finger) and to understand quickly how the parts fit together; some steps were even automated to show how the parts were supposed to come together. But the 3-D app was not perfect, a few parts were not illustrated with enough detail to show their proper orientation. In those few instances I needed to consult the well-illustrated printed instructions for clarity. As for the app, it asks which model you want to download, and there are a lot of Weber products that look similar or that have similar sounding model numbers. The app would be better if it employed a QR Reader to allow the user to scan the product label. That would eliminate confusion about selecting instructions for the correct model (eg. Models E310 and E310LP sound similar, but their assembly and parts are vastly different). A caution concerning assembly: wear work gloves. There are a few sharp edges underside, on which you can cut yourself (I did). The bottom line on assembly – it’s time consuming but not difficult. The product is well-designed using quality materials, and a thoughtful assembly process. I have assembled scores of products, and the printed manual and phone app for this product were among the best I have seen and used for a product of this nature. Overall, this is a very nice grill, superior in many ways to competitive products. I would recommend it to a friend.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This grill was meant to last. Heavy duty build and extremely simple to use. I love the heavy duty heat resistant plastic that not only protects you from getting burned when the heat is blasting, but also traps the heat in too. The three burners kick off a lot of heat, but I like how the flame is designed to go straight up instead of sideways as it prevents flaring when grease bits it. I also love the propane holder. It's easy to place the tank on, and the indicators tell you how much propane is still in the tank. The coolest thing about this grill is the built in iGrill3. I have had igrills before, but really like how this is buikt in. I wish the igrill came with this, but it's sold separately. I am also not a huge fan of the drip tray, and think it could have been designed a bit better. Other than that, I love this grill. Easy to use and will last forever. 100% recommend!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from B+ but fix that flimsy folding table Great grill. Holds temperature very well. Good grease drain so no flare ups or fires. But do not attempt to move this grill especially on a grass or dirt surface. It seems there was no thought whatsoever how to secure the folding table so one may safely roll the grill in and out of a garage for instance. The grill has no handles or anywhere to grab, and the folding table is way too flimsy to safely roll the grill on its wheels. Too bad. Because of this, I would not consider another

This is a medium size propane gas grill that can be used to cook for 4-6 people easily. It is well made and feels solid in general except for the shelves that don't feel as solid. Assembly is relatively easy but it can take 1-2 hours to put this together. - The propane gas tank sits in a designated spot under the side shelf and remains exposed to the elements. - It has a neat feature which is a gauge that gives you an indication of how much gas is remaining. - The igniter fires up easily and the three burners burn very consistently. - The grates are very solid and well sized. - There are multiple hooks to hang utensils. Recommended.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Disappointing I bought this grill about a month and a half ago very disappointing that there isn’t a handle or front wheels to help with moving around easier, also the burners go out with the slightest breeze, cover blows off constantly... was a replacement for a 19 year old Weber genisis silver. Very disappointed! Will research other brands
