Can someone please buy one of these and give a comprehensive review! I am dying to know if they are worth me spending my $$$. Also, how rust proof is the new bottom area?
Asked by: PatG
I can't answer for this model, but i know Weber has a 10 year warranty. I have only had to buy 1 Weber propane grill in the past, as it lasted almost 20 years. I kept it covered in the winter (except when I used it) and only had to replace the gas line from the tank to the grill as it got brittle after about 8 or 9 years the first time. This Model is the most similar in size etc to the one I had, which I gave away when I sold my house. For all I know is still going strong (app 5 years).. Now that I have moved into a house again (condo life not for me), I will be buying another Weber, I am just trying to decide between this model and another.

There is a great Youtube tutorial by a guy with a head-mounted camera who unpacks and assembles the whole unit within 30 minutes -- figure 2 or 3 times that amount for an amateur -- it will save a lot of time to have a drill with a Phillips bit holder. There are a number of other assembly videos but this one is the best. There is also a free "Bilt" app where you can download 3D animated assembly instructions. Very doable for any organized person with a minimum of mech skills --

Spirit II E-310 3-Burner Propane Gas Grill in Ivory is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 3798.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not so good I had this bbq Professionally assembled by . I bought this for about one month and the second time of use (when I had a ton a guests waiting for bbq) my gas line gauge from the propane tank to the bbq broke and started leaking gas. Went to Lowe’s with the broken gauge and asked for a new hose. They said I had to return the entire bbq (which I can’t even fit in my car) and get a new one. So I had to buy a generic pipe and gauge out of my own money .’additionally Weber has a connection fitting that can not be removed So I had to remove it higher up and had To buy another fitting as Well. On top of that I find that the corners do not cook nearly as well as the middle of the grill. The hood also feels kind of flimsy, easy to dent and just plain cheap. Overall due to my poor experience so far I wish Weber would just take this one and give me a genesis, which I hear works better. Weber did send a new pipe and gauge but the inconvenience it caused for my first owned bbq was disheartening

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Very nice grill but not up to previous standards About 10 - 12 years ago I had a Weber grill, similar in size ( three burners ) and found it to be really great. I believe that this Spirit E-310 grill falls short of measuring up to the same standards. What I have experienced is the following: 1. I had problems with the burners lighting and called customer service. They told me that I can no longer turn on the gas at the tank and then turn on and light the burners, but have to wait three to five minutes after the gas valve on the tank is opened. 2. I find this grill is much more subject to flare-ups than my previous Weber grill. 3. The metal on the E 310 is much more difficult, perhaps even impossible, to keep looking nice. 4. The Spirit has two wheels for moving, but there is virtually no way to easily grasp the grill to lift the opposite end to move it. The grill still grills food, but it just really is a little disappointing to me as I was basing the purchase on the previous grill, and this does fall somewhat short.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from If I could return it I would We’ve enjoyed Weber grills for over 20 years until we purchased this one in 2018. The tray below the burners that catches all the marinade and food particles and it doesn’t fall to the tiny tray below so the grill goes on fire often and had to be taken apart and cleaned. The tiny tray that slides out gets caught all the time and it doesn’t hold a disposable tray very well. The food doesn’t burn off inside the large box like tray and there’s always an odor. This grill is lighter than most of the other Weber grills and blows over when it’s windy. All of the knobs busted off when it fell over. The Weber cover that fits this grill doesn’t fit well. The Velcro spots don’t fasten well and the cover constantly blows off. Here’s the real catch why I hate this grill so much. When it’s uncovered and it rains, the grill leaks. Water seeps into the large tray draining all the guck inside the grill onto our patio cement so I’m always freaked about keeping the grill clean inside and covered. Do not buy this grill

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really Great, But... Operates very well and the heat seems quite even. Well constructed and easy to assemble, although there was no room for error. If you lost a screw, for example, there was no replacement. Never lost any, but some might. I live on the Chesapeake Bay and critters abound. At night, they get up on the shelf below the grill to get at what they smell inside and push up the lightweight device covering the opening at the bottom which then falls out. I couldn't find an explanation for the purpose of the thing. Though the grill is obviously set up for a rotisserie, finding one that fits has been difficult. What helped convince me was the customer service given my bro-in-law and the parts availability. My old grill had a lifetime guarantee on the burners which were bronze. The valves started sticking badly and when I tried to get replacements, was told they didn't make them anymore. Useless guarantee. My in-law got a part for his years-old Weber next day.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good to Great Great family-sized, corner-of-the-deck grill. I was a cook for 10 years and a chef for 5, and have owned and used more than a few grills over the years. I would have liked to see a bigger pivoting upper deck on this mid-sized model as the stationary one included is quite small for roasting veggie trays or keeping medium-large steaks hot. Also with the wheels on the right, and the fold-down side-tray on the left, rolling it around without having the tray popping off the cleats is a challenge. Simply putting the folding tray on the same side as the wheels, or having an option to permanently fix it in place, would have made this a non-issue. I was concerned when I saw the 5 heat distribution plates and only 3 burners. But heat seems pretty even-spread, with minimal hot-spots. First impressions, are great; these two minor gripes the only things keeping it from being a 5-star grill for me. The 10 year warrantee on all parts seems to be worth it's weight. The open, simple build will make cleaning inside and out relatively fast and easy.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Cooking Quality Excellent, Cart Quality Poor This is my 3rd Weber grill. I have always enjoyed this product and my grills all lasted 10 plus years. I would rate the cooking components of the grill as excellent, as it delivers a quality cookout every time! However, I am disappointed in the construction of the grill base, for lack of a better term. I truly miss the fact that the grill no longer comes with a closed lower portion, for storing and keeping things dry and out of sight. In addition, my last 2 grills were equipped with 4 wheels, and wheels that locked in place. I find it very difficult to move the grill around the deck with just the 2 wheels., it is heavy, cumbersome, and very tough to maneuver. I wish I would have paid more attention to those features, as it has put a damper on my grilling experience. I am not sure how much those 2 features would have added to the cost of this grill, but in my estimation, they would have been worth every penny.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Meh We bought this grill about 2 months ago now. I would certainly like to be able to say I am enamored of it. We replaced our stalwart 2 burner 2004 Genesis Silver, the grill my wife cut her grilling chops on. She does all the grilling, and any questions pertaining to it will be answered with her input/attributes. She is having a very difficult time setting the proper temperature with the three burners. She gets different results per use and is getting a little gun-shy about using the grill at all some days. For my part, I put the grill together and was very satisfied with the packing and quality of the components (but used assembly manual, not spacy "BILT" app). Two design elements irk me. One, the grease tray: I find one must get on their knees to re-insert the assembled tray into the squeaky, imprecise shelf. It binds and catches until viola, it finally slides home. Second, the fold-down tray, when used as the maneuvering handle, pops out of its non-adjustable mounting lugs and makes moving the unit an adventure. Fit, finish, appearance are top drawer, as expected. It's a Weber.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent results on fish, chops, potatoes I was pretty happy with my previous grill, but last December a windstorm blew it off the deck and down a flight of stairs and smashed it up quite a bit. So I decided I'd replace it with a Weber, and I'm glad I did. The Spirit II E-310 is the perfect size for my deck. The porcelain grids work much better than the ones on my old grill -- easy to clean and no sticking. I've grilled a whole sea bass, a little basket of baby potatoes in their skins, cabbage slices, lamb chops, asparagus stalks, and a lot of other stuff. (Eventually I'll get around to steak and burgers.) The heat is even, so everything on the grill cooks at the right temperature and nothing burns. The controls give a smooth transition from low to high with no big jumps in between. It's obviously built for long service. I'm definitely keeping this one, and will lash it to the deck posts to protect it during the winter.
