Q:Can this be used to measure the temperature inside the grill or smoker, instead of the temperatur...

Answer This Question

A:  It should. I haven't used for surface temp on grill yet, but it displays a picture of that being done, with a holder, or bracket for gauge.

by|Jan 5, 2023

A:  Yes. They have a clip attachment (not included) to keep the probe off of your grill grates.

by|Jan 10, 2021

A:  Yes, but you'd have to rig up something to hold the probe off the grill surface to get an accurate reading. It's really not made to do anything but monitor food temperature.

by|Oct 19, 2022

A:  Hello, Thanks for your question! Yes, the iGrill mini can be used with our ambient probe, which will measure the temperature of the air inside of a grill or smoker. You can find the ambient probe here: http://www.homedepot.com/p/Weber-iGrill-Pro-Ambient-Probe-7212/300650243. Thanks!

Q:Does the blue tooth work through a Komodo cooker?

          Answer This Question

A:  Bluetooth is outside the grill entirely. The probe is the only part in the grill. So yes, it will work with any grill.

          by|Jan 10, 2021

A:  Hello, Thanks for your question! The iGrill Mini can't pair directly with a Komodo cooker, but it can be paired with ant compatible smart device. However, the iGrill Mini can be used with any grill, smoker, cooker, etc without any interference. Thanks!

              Thanksgiving turkey disaster averted
I purchased this December 2020 and have used it maybe 10 times and only in the oven. I've replaced the battery once. Thanksgiving day it decides to go haywire. I would get an accurate reading at first, 45 degrees in my raw turkey. Then 5 minutes the app starts beeping wildly saying my meat is over temperature at is at 538 degrees! My oven was set at 350 and is accurate. I rebooted my phone, restarted the thermometer and nothing worked. I finally gave up and relied on 30 years of turkey cooking experience and an old analog meat thermometer.

                Poor performance
I bought this in July 2020 it worked great for about 6 months then started to loose connection with the probe. I changed the battery but this did not help. The last time I used it I got a notification that the meat was burning. Very disappointed I went to where I bought it in Calgary Alberta Canada they said it was discontinued.

                  Poor performance
Bought today as a gift for a mate as he loves to do roasts on his Webber. Lamb on the grill with lid shut and the probe positioned where its supposed to, within 10 minutes its reading a temperature of 70 degrees Celsius. Waste of money.

Response from Weber GrillsFeb 19, 2021
Hello. We are sorry to hear about the trouble with the iGrill mini you recently purchased. The best way to check for accuracy of the probe is to conduct either an ice water or boiling water test. This would entail placing the probe in either a cup of ice water or a cup of boiling water. - For ice water, we would expect a temperature of: 32F, +/- 2 degrees - For boiling water, we would expect a temperature of: 212F, +/- 2 degrees If the results point to the probes being defective, please reach out to the Australian support team to submit a warranty claim. Thanks!
                    Best steak I've ever cooked!
I used my iGrill mini & Weber grill for the first time today. The steak was cooked to perfection & the taste was sublime. I recommend the Weber grill & iGrill mini highly. Incredible.

                      100 degrees difference
I bought this a year ago, and wish I could take it back. It reads nowhere near the correct temp. Has almost zero range. Do not purchase. And yes, I have it on the right settings and am Tech savvy enough to work the app. It simply doesn’t work. Even replaced the battery. These pictures were taken to show temp at grill level in my smoker.

Hello! Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback! We are sorry to hear about the disappointment experiencing with iGrill mini! There could be a small temperature range; however, in this case, you will need a new thermometer probe. We have passed your information to our support team, and they will contact you via email to help. Thanks!
Great until it stops working which isn't long
It eventually just stops turning on even though the battery still has juice. I tried adjusting the battery terminal like it says in the FAQ and nothing.

This Sold me to get an upgrade
Well been using this little guy for almost a year now and I think I am ready for an upgrade. Sometimes use for temperatures, stalls etc. and sometimes for ambient temperatures. Every once in a while will give me problems that takes just a quick reset of the Android phone or transmitter to get it working right. Got some overtime monies coming so getting an upgrade to an iGrill2 and adding an ambient probe. The picture is showing it stuck into a turkey while a different one was being use for the ambient temperature. What I needed was a reader to give me alarms for the ambient temperatures getting too low or high.

                            Best thermometer
I got one as a gift last Christmas and I use it all the time to monitor meat and poultry that I am smoking in the smoker. Never failed me. This year I am smoking 2 turkeys so I just ordered another one.

Don't know how I cooked without it?!?!
This thermometer is awsome! I always used an analog thermometer which I had to constantly open and close my smoker while loosing heat, but not with this baby. Just download the app and set your your desired temp. When your meat hits the temperature that you are looking for, it sets off the alarm. It also has built in presets for you to use just in case you are not sure what temp is needed. It's actually smaller than you think, but it makes it nice that it has a built-in magnetic base that will attach to your grill. There is a hard rubber grip peice that I thought would melt, but never did even at a temp of 400. Not only did I use this as a meat probe, but also an internal temp gauge for the smoker. I only wish the temp would show up on the main base since you have to look at your phone all the time, but my first attempt at a pork butt came out absolutely perfect because of this. Trust me... you will love this thermometer.
