Is the black shiny or matte finish?

Very poor quality
Took my husband about two hours to assemble. The parts were labeled nice. However, the quality is cheap. The chest itself looks pretty when assembled, but the worst part is the drawers DO NOT slide in and out nicely. Not smooth at all and very loud. Wood on wood obviously wouldn’t work well. Designer of this didn’t think that threw.
Very sad, because it looks nice on the outside.

Use Caution in Buying This!
I bought this dresser based on its compact size and style. I was greatly disappointed. While I liked that it was solid wood (pine), the paint job on it was poor -- so thin was the paint, one could see the grain of the wood through it. In addition, one drawer support had a crack 3/4 of the way through it and another pre-drilled screw hole in a drawer side had wood missing on the side. I ended up returning this item due to the defects and poor quality.

The dresser quality is medium for the price. The screws to hold in the back panels are too big which causes the wood to split. The smell of the paint on the wood is very strong. Since we use it in our walk-in closet as supplement storage, it serves the purpose.
