It appears the maximum working height of this 16 foot ladder is 13 feet long at full (safe) extension, (with overlap). Does that allow for the acceptable safe lean-angle slope of the ladder? I need the actual ladder itself to reach 12 feet High. Will it?

I have looked every where I can ladder is not even month old and the fiber glass leg is broke

Is there anyone who can advise me (79 yrs old, 5'5" tall man) whether or not it is good idea to use this ladder for climbing to an 18 foot high ceiling to do a caulking job?
Probably not a good idea for a 79 year old to be 18' up on any ladder. Hire a younger guy. (My advise - I'm 77)
Good ladder, but get extra help for safety reasons!
