Being 71 years old. I really like these podium ladders by Werner. Very well built. You want at least the 300 pounds weight capacity. The beginning height is from where you are standing on the podium. Then the normal over head comfortable work height with arms above outreach combined. I believe on this ladder the podium is at six feet. Standing on the podium at six feet and say you are six foot tall with a comfortable two foot overhead reach. Puts the workable height around say 14 feet. When working on uneven ground. Make sure you have at least two ladder wedge height leveler adjusters to put under foot or feet of ladder. Most times you only need one wedge. Some times two if on very uneven ground. Hope this helps.
The podium ladder is made of aluminum steps and fiberglass rails, with a hard plastic LOCK TOP.
This "12-ft reach height" podium ladder length is 9 feet long. To answer the question, the ladder length in the closed position laying flat on the ground is 9 feet long. I like the Werner podium style ladders. I have several of these in different heights. However, their specs are not clear. I had the same question as this person before purchasing, I could not figure out the total length of the ladder. Werner customer service was no help, as they were reading the info available online.
just a hammer - anything else that you need to do you can do with your teeth and claws
I was able to order mine online for store pickup with no problem. it came in sooner than projected by the website.
Your feet on the platform or at 10 feet. Is a good size platform. The additional reach come from your height and hand out reach over head.
Platform is 46” above floor. Works well for me 5’7” and 10ft ceilings
I found out it internet order only. But you can have it shipped to the store no charge. That's what I did.
It’s the length of the ladder - almost 9 feet.
My ladder is stored stored upright against shelving, perpendicular to the floor. It stands 85 inches tall, 20.125 inches wide, and 8.5 inches deep at the top (has a tool tray) and 6 inches deep at the bottom
