Special features include a Grade 3 adjustable latch for 2 3/8 and 2 3/4 in. backsets and split spindles for ease of installation. The half-dummy function is ideal for doors where only a pull function is needed, like pantry or closet doors with no holes.

It does not come with a strike, faceplate or latch. AnswerThis small key should have a flat head on one end, similar to a flat head screwdriver. You can use this tool to depress the pin and remove the knob, prior to installing the spindle/rosette to the door. By removing the knob, it makes it easier to install the screws into the spindle/rosette. Once attached to the door, you can then reattach the knob.

AnswerAll Weslock dummy knob or lever products only come with one side. Therefore, if you want a knob or lever on both sides of the door (interior and exterior), you would need to order two dummy knobs or levers. For example, if you have a set of dummy doors (two dummy doors side by side) and you want knobs or levers on the exterior and interior sides, you would need to order 4 dummy knobs or levers.

Replace ugly brass!
I have a double door way into my office area of my house and I needed dummy door knobs to replace the brass. These were the cheapest by far and I got free shipping. I placed my order on a Sunday evening and it arrived the following Tuesday afternoon.
What you see is what you get - 1 knob, 2 screws. That's it. These knobs are for looks only. I added them and I love them! I bought 4 total.

They break off after a couple years.
The price is good and they look good, but they don't last. I've now had two of these knobs used on sliding doors snap right off after a couple years of use. In a guest bed or basement closet you probably won't, but they're not sturdy enough for a pantry.

Can you please further explain what you mean when you say "snap right off?" Do you mean the entire lock fell off the door, meaning the surface mounted screws came loose from the door? Do you mean the knob came off spindle, which means the spring loaded retainer clip was released?

It was easy to install but the measurements were off....
It was easy to install but the measurements were off. They sent one set of screws that were to short to fit through a closet door and another set of screws that were too long to fit. So we ended up having to get our own Hardware.

We are sorry for the inconvenience you experienced in installing this Salem dummy knob. Our standing packaging includes one heat sealed bag with one set of Phillips Head wood screws (quantity 2) that are 1-1/8" long. In addition, the spindle, rosette and knob are all assembled together, so that all you do is surface mount the single assembly to the surface of door with the two wood screws. We are not aware of any instructions that are included with this product, so we are confused about the instructions you used and the multiple sets of screws.
