Threads do not continue far enough up on shaft
You want the threaded nut that attaches to the airgap above the sink to be completely engaged on the shaft so it does not strip off under tension from hoses below. But you may also want the white rubber washer to be covered by the black metal cap so it is not visible. Sorry, you cannot have both because if you thread the nut down from the top so all threads are engaged, the shaft sticks up too high to be fully covered by the metal cap. Very short sighted design.
