Can this switch be used in a ceiling fixture with 3 bulbs? Will it turn on 1 bulb, then 2 at once, then 3 at once?
Asked by: Tim
That is how my fan lights work and is how this switch worked for me. It would be best to check your existing switch and see how many wires it has.

Can I use this for attic fan which has 2 speeds? The one which I had broken. Attic fan has 2 speed and no light

Asked by: Arvind
You probably have one switch for the light and one for the fan. If so, replace the bulbs and see if that works. If it does not, repace the switch. If you have only one bulb, get the switch with 2 wires. If you have 3 bulbs that are supposed to light up separately, get this switch. If you don't have 2 switches, I don't know what is wrong

What is difference between a 3 way fan light switch and and a 3 speed fan switch

Asked by: Phyl
If I understand your question, the ceiling fan fixture has 3 lights, and the fan has 3 speeds. There are two switches; The light switch would have on-on-on-off, and the fan would have low-medium-fast-off.

My old switch has a red wire to P, black to M, and blue to N. New one is red to 1,black to L, and blue to 2.Is this ok?

Try it. Just be sure to put the black wire where the old black wire was.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Westinghouse 3 way light switch My light switch broke on my ceiling fan, and was going to buy a new fan. I decided to take it apart first, and noticed the switch sitting right there. So I went on Home Depots website and typed "3 way ceiling fan light switch" and voolah, there it was with even the same color wires. My fan has 2 separate light fixtures so I needed this one which would turn one light on, other one off, vice versa, or both off. It worked great. Thanks Home Depot!!!
