A:  The photo looks like mine except my drain stuff is PLASTIC! NO knob - that would be EXTRA. Wish I had purchased a large Black Rubber containment pan to have installed under the unit. Hindsight! Dribbles and drips after using drain valve without the control handle/spin wheel, knob - anything useful for maintenance would have been nice! Considering buying another and giving this now yearling away so a new one could be installed with a Different Drain + Drain Drip Catcher too!! We used to have lots of hot water - no more! Yearling Water heater is well LAME now! :-(

A High Quality Great Value Product
Having purchased at least 10 water heaters in life, each lasting about 6 years before blowing out from galvanic action, I did a considerable amount of research before choosing the Westinghouse stainless heater. The fact that it had a lifetime guarantee was reassuring. After 3 years of use, it is functioning perfectly, has no signs of corrosion, and is quite well insulated, so there is virtually no heat loss.

First thing is that I picked the water heater up at the HD whse. Fast service and I was loaded and on my way within 15 minutes. My lucky day. Perfect shape and not a single scratch or dent. Nice brass inlet and outlet fittings and a stainless tank. What's not to like ? Easy install. Had to shorten supply and output lines due to tank height but no big deal. Did the final hook up with sweated copper lines and Falcon Stainless corrugated connectors. Sorry but NO Shark Bites or braided lines for me. Shark Bites are a great product if you are in a rush but I'm retired and had plenty of time so I felt more comfortable doing it the time consuming way. I did use two wraps of Blue Teflon tape followed with PTFE paste as instructed in the installation guide along with a new expansion tank set to match the H2O pressure at 55 lbs. I was concerned that I wouldn't have the volume as before because of the flap type heat traps but I really see no difference from the old 14 year old AO Smith unit that was installed with the copper MIP fittings going directly into the water heater. After purging the system we had fairly hot water in appx. 30 minutes. I installed it on 6-1-18 and so far it has met all my expectations. Hopefully this will be my last water heater needed. Note: I had run out of 3/4" copper so that sloppy looking CPVC connected to the T&P valve will be replaced this weekend.

This beautiful water heater arrived at Home Depot without a scratch. I was worried after I read about water heaters frequently being damaged durring shipping. This unit has a stainless steel tank and heating elements which are typically only found in comercial units and was a major factor in deciding to make this purchase. It also has a traditional thermostat design without any fancy electronics which i have read can be troublesome. Installation went smoothly. So far the unit has has been in service a few weeks and has performed flawlessly.

Three parts: 1. Easy on-line purchase on homedepot.com, quick delivery to our home in 4 days (3 days faster than promised), arrived in wooden crate without any damage, and placed in our garage as requested. 2. Easy to install for a DIY’er in about 4 hours from start (uncrating) to finish (final clean up). Light enough you handle by one person once I uncrated (used my hand truck to move cratedunit from garage to basement where I uncrated the unit). Came with easy-to-follow step-by-step instructions from Westinghouse for set up and connections. 3. Performing exactly as wanted... didn’t have to make any thermostat adjustments and lots of hot water just like the unit I replaced.
