I have a 40 yr old mobile home and wanted to replace the glass shade in my bathroom but didn't realize I had an odd size fixture that would only take 1 5/8" bottom fitting to go into the fixture. (new ones are 2"+)
While the size was what I wanted, I didn't like the look of the clear glass shade over the bulb, so I thinned 3 colors of paint with water (1/2 tsp per 1 oz paint)
1st the same shade as the wall,
2nd white craft paint
3d main color was deco-art pearl paint.
I had a clean styrofoam meat tray to put under the pour, placed inside a cardboard box.(picture 2)
Then poured the paint from top to bottom, moving the shade, side to side to cover it, (1 color at a time) over the meat tray.
I used the paint mixture in the tray pour over to create a subtle marbled look.
Let it dry for 2 hrs then did a 2nd pour of just the pearl paint.
Love the way it turned out, maybe you'll want to try it too?

These lamp shades made the perfect update to my mid century chandelier that used to have these frilly frosted glass shades that were chipped/cracked. So glad I went with clear glass! I put in some Edison style candlelight bulbs, and they look perfect with the clear glass shade.

So very pleased
I was so very pleased to be able to find replacement glass for my grandmother's silver candle lamps. I was very sad when one of my glass candle covers was broken. I've had a difficult time finding a replacement, so you can imagine my delight when I saw these on your website. They aren't quite as tall as the originals but nonetheless work. I am so very pleased that they are hand-blown as well. I'm thrilled to be able to use them once again and to be able to pass them down to future generations. I have attached a somewhat fuzzy photo. Thank you Home Depot for carrying this product.
