Maybe or maybe not. Depends on the way the ceiling fan junction box cap & size attaches to the bracket. If your going to attach to the underside of the ceiling stud I would cut out the 4" diameter needed for the fan mounting box so it sits flush to the ceiling. (Hence the reason the fan support box is 1/2" deep) Good luck with your project.
The box depth for item 0103600 is 1/2". We also have a item 0103000 which box depth is 5/8".
Yes - that is the typical mount for a ceiling fan.
No, the Saf-T-Pan is not is not galvanized.
Yes, this box can be mounted to a concrete ceiling, using the appropriate fasteners as determined by your local building code.
Yes. Providing there is a substantial support member to screw it to. Many screened porches the roofing area is just a thin sheet of metal with only a Styrofoam backing. This is not adequate. Make sure to secure it to a good support. Good luck.
4". Not sure why it is listed as a 6". I never seen a 6" fan support box.
No, this cannot be installed on any part of a metal joist.
I don't see any reason why not - but be aware that as a shallow box there's little room for the wires coming in. Fortunately, for me, there was room withing the fan housing but even then it was very tight.
I would start with the 1/8" size. You want it to be a guide to help the screw into the wood. If it's tight, try soaping the threads first.
