It's OK, fairly simple device, that's if you need 6' or less in cord length. Home depot should stock the candelabra base separately; just as they stock the switch and "cut-to-length-cord" separately. Thus, one can purchase each and make up to fit a specific application. I used this for an 8' reach and spliced the cord within the switch since the candelabra socket is molded with the cord.

I bought this to use NOT as it is intended (sorry) but it works very well. I am using it to warm up the thermometer of a refrigerator out in my detached, unheated garage so that the compressor would work even when temperatures drop way below freezing. It does the job well. I placed a 15w incandescent bulb with a timer on it to cycle on every half hour for half an hour. My refrigerator has been running wonderfully so far. The cord is of good quality and the socket comes with a spring clip for lamps. I can't review the switch as it is a standard switch and I have it on the ON setting only. The cable seems to be a 14 or 16 gauge wire with nice insulation. It tucks nicely between the magnetic door seal.

Worked perfect. I built a chicken coop light with this and mounted inside with a bulb. I routed the switch right inside the coop cleanout door if I ever wanted to turn it off locally Vs in the garage where I have the timer setup.....4 snows and constant 22 degree weather...Zero issues so far. Best DIY setup for a coop light at a VERY low cost compared to pre-builts that never really satisfy requirements effectively.
