AnswerThis integrated LED is equivalent to a 75 watt incandescent light bulb. It is not recommended that a ceiling fan light kit be used as the main source of light for a room.

This Westinghouse Alta Vista Ceiling fan looks very nice and has some good features. I installed it in a secondary bedroom. Installation took about an hour. I expected it to go faster but attaching the blades was a bit of a headache. The screws with the washers barely fit through the slot so holding my cordless driver and the blade at the same time forced me to recruit a little help. At any rate it went up without any major issues.
This fan is controlled strictly by remote. The remote has a cradle that can be mounted on the wall. As another review stated, the remote uses a tiny 12 volt battery but the battery compartment has space for two AAA batteries. It's odd but everything works nonetheless. In addition to the remote, this fan has a fairly bright LED light. You can reverse the motor but the switch is located on the top of the fan housing not the remote. I feel the blades are a little flimsy but that does not appear to affect the operation. Air flow is not tremendous but pretty good for a bedroom. Overall I'm pretty happy with this fan.

This fan is really nice but I'm not sure it moves as much air as described. The fan is not as fast as I expected it to be but it's quiet and looks really nice and seems to be well made.
Installation was fairly straightforward and the instructions were OK (even though they looked like somebody printed them at their home office).
I like the remote as it has several fan speeds and light control, however it comes with a strange non-standard 12v battery and has non functional AAA battery slots (there's not metal leads). The remote also comes with a wall mount holder which is a huge plus.
The LED lighting panel is covered by a smoked glass cover which simply screws on without tools. The color temp is in the yellow "warm" range (not blue). The brightness is listed at 1080 lumens which is pretty good for just 18 watts.
Overall I like this fan but I wish it moved more air.

Great, sleek option! Only negatives: this was much harder to install than the other fans I purchased for the home, and the "Westinghouse" logo on the fan is a bit of an eye sore. Functionality-wise, this fan is great. Excellent air flow even though it's quite close to the ceiling.

The fan wobbles even with balancing. The light does not dim. The motor hums at medium or high speed. Don’t buy this fan! It’s not worth the money. I installed 3 home decorator fans same day and those 3 are great and have none of the problems of this Westinghouse fan.

We really like the style of this fan because of the matte black finish and three blades. Looked great installed but on day two it started making a rattling noise and seemed off balance with a wobble. Changed the blades around and then tried rebalancing. No luck getting rid of the noise and returned it. Got the Home Decorators one instead and it was a much better value with no noise
